Last night my finger started swelling and then this morning it was still swollen and my finger was turning purple. I couldn't get it off with any of the tricks so I had to have it cut off. My finger is still swollen but it's getting better. The jeweler wanted $500 to repair it :( so I just sold it for the gold and diamonds and just bought a cheap little ring from Kohl's after talking it over with my husband. I pretty much sobbed all day.

We don't really live near family. I bought a cute little band from Kohls for $15 (70% off woo) that will be just fine. He told me when he's in his goal career he'll buy me a new set until then it's just fine :) but i'm still upset that it happened

$500?!?!? I had to have mine cut off last summer for the same reason and it cost me $15 to get it fixed. I wish you wouldn't have sold it off!!! Next time make sure you take it elsewhere, it's pretty easy to fix so long as it isn't too elaborate of a band, even if there's ways around it :(

Well Kay's really cut it, like over dramatically cut it. Then they wanted me to pay $230 for each ring for new shanks. I didn't know what to do, who to trust with my ring, or if it would null my extended plan with Kay's to take it elsewhere. I kind of freaked out.

Ohhhhhh it was Kay's.... that makes sense. I bought/take mine to a local jeweler. I freaked out when mine wouldn't come off, 5 months later and I still have scars on my finger from my pulling and twisting so much.

If it ever happens again, you can cut the rings (usually) with a pair of wire snippers/cutters. That's what my jeweler used and all they had to do was melt the gold and reform it. Also an ER can do it as well.

they used a saw thing and pliers and the broke it in 3 places :( it was terrible

do you have homeowners insurance and a receipt of the ring's purchase price? sometimes it's covered under homeowners and you could get a similar ring!

You guys should check out oravo.com, if you switch it to high to low they have some really nice rings and they are all half off, but dang that stinks, hopefully you can get a nice one again in a few years.
