Have any of you ever packed up and moved across the country without a plan?

idk I really want to just go to San Francisco and not come back, but I can't stop worrying about everything going wrong and just ending up homeless or something.

I wouldn't run away to San Francisco. I don't live that far from it, and while it's a nice city, living there is SO expensive.

Los Angeles is better as a running away destination.

Yeah, I know I can't afford to live downtown, but I was thinking somewhere outside the city, maybe. Somewhere with a BART station.

idk, I just really loved the vibe of SF when I was there, but I didn't mesh as well with LA. It was fun to visit, but idk if I could live there.

I'm considering San Diego too, b/c I do have a cousin who lives there, but I haven't spoken to him in about 10 years.

I thought of doing this recently since I'm almost turning 22 and have literally been no where. But I am a pretty paranoid person and the plan would be a solo trip if I were to do it. I just know something will go wrong like I won't find a job or an apartment or anything. I discussed this with my cousin some weeks back and she said she'd only do something like that if she has friends or family wherever she moves that she can trust in case of an emergency.

yes, but i had someone to stay with and money. i couldn't imagine doing it without either of those things.

not cross country, but to another state. i didn't have a job lined up but i had an apt lined up (faxed the lease and paperwork back and forth)...i found a job fairly quickly but this was in '08 before the economy fully tanked. now i wouldn't do it w/out lining up a job first

I like it sometimes. I've only really been interested in it maybe the past year or two. I've never been, but the Ultra line up looks pretty amazing this year. I'm sure it's been sold out already, though.

I am trying to go cruelty-free with my make-up and it sucks that most drug store bands test on animals :( So far I have found that Elf, NYX, Palladio, Physician's Formula, NYC, Sally Hansen and Wet n Wild don't. Milani might not either but I have to e-mail them to make sure. :/ Looks like I have to look at higher end brands for more options.

ugh, ikr. I made a resolution to try to do that this year and it's proving more difficult than I anticipated. I don't have the money for anything other than drug store brands.

Super happy about Elf tho, because I love their studio brushes.

Speaking of friendslocking and filtering (ok no one else was talking about it, but I talked about it like 10 pages ago, so this isn't as random as it seems), that can still backfire hilariously on lj.

A while back someone I was friends with on lj make a post talking shit about one of my good friends here on lj. And the Shit Talker had thought she'd filtered out all of the friends of my good friend, but NOPE. SHE MISSED ONE. And that person ratted her out and it was the most amazing drama.
