She is upping her game as judge on American Idol, talking about range, vibratos, vocal dynamics, songwriting and even marketability. Mariah, you are, of all judges, the only one that has the right to judge VOCAL TECHNIQUE.
Mariah Carey talks about American Idol Sudden Death, V-day with Nick Cannon and more babies(!?)

she's lost a lot of weight
Which reminds me, I tracked Mariah Carey on tweetdeck and most of the tweets about her were either super positive (and mostly based around her appearance and/or what she's saying) or starkly negative, saying she talks too much or is just really annoying. Of course, this is twitter where Barbs are quite common but IDK. I feel like most of the people (who aren't Barbies?) seem to have at least a positive opinion on Mariah since I spoke to people about this show who liked her judging skills, but don't really tweet about idol. I kinda wonder how she'd be reviewed if she didn't get into that fight with Nicki Minaj.
I just want her to critique their voices, talk about their range at their comfort level and their dynamics whatnot. I feel like she is really helpful with her critiques but she gotta be more specific and I feel, stern at times. She's too sweet! I miss Hoodriah.
And gosh Hoodriah would be the best but I want the rambly diva that was on HLN tbh. That was just a fountain of hilariousness. I feel like Keith Urban could fill into the nice judge quality if she suddenly decides to be stricter. I think she's trying to keep things cordial because she has that image as a cold diva.
Damn, I read that as vibrators, I'll blame it on seen pics of Henry Cavill in a previous post
Idk, but hopefully with Mariah having decided to speak up, the show will be more interesting.
Is she still in the competition? I can't handle how good this is!
i kinda think she'll be the winner from what i've seen.
I'm not watching this weeks episodes until Sunday, but I am glad to hear Mariah is giving critiques. These early episodes had me frustrated because the editing favored Nicki so much and I just couldn't imagine that Mariah would have nothing to say.
Also, I love how Keith Urban knows all the songs, and seems enthusiastic. You can tell he's a music's musician, you know, like, he isn't in the industry to the glory & fame, he's in because he just legit loves music. All music. And where he was brought in primarily because there are always so many country based contestants, he's really shown his range for other genre's as well-
Can't wait for live shows.

it just irked me yesterday that randy kept going on about how it's a singing competition and really most of the guys were just decent last night. only curtis truly had the vocals. and i find it stupid that a few of the guys were sent through when they were boring and their vocals weren't even that great when people like jda and chris were at least on par in my opinion with them vocally and were entertaining as well.
but lol @ randy thinking it's still a singing competition. even nicki minaj said it wasn't about singing but more about performing. it seems like the judges really need to make up their mind.
