Ben Foster replaces Shia LaBeouf in "Orphans" on Broadway

The producers of the Broadway debut of Lyle Kessler's Orphans announced Feb. 21 that film star Ben Foster will replace Shia LaBeouf, who departed the upcoming production "due to creative differences," in the role of Treat. Read more about LaBeouf's departure here.

The three-person drama, starring Alec Baldwin and Tom Sturridge, will begin previews March 19 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, with an official opening scheduled for April 7. Daniel Sullivan directs.

Producers Frederick Zollo and Robert Cole said in a statement, “We are delighted that Ben will join Alec Baldwin and Tom Sturridge when rehearsals commence at Orphans tomorrow morning. He is an extraordinarily gifted actor."
