SyFy's new reality series 'Stranded' reminiscent of MTV's 'Fear'

Syfy is hoping that ordinary folks will bump up against extraordinary phenomena in Stranded, an unscripted series launching later this month — and TVLine has a first look at a new trailer.

Premiering Wednesday, February 27 at 10/9c and executive-produced by Jason Blum (of the Paranormal Activity film franchise) and Josh Gates (Destination Truth), Stranded sends three participants into a haunted location, where they document their experience with hand-held cameras (supplemented by strategically placed security camera footage).

During their confinement, the subjects must (hopefully!!!) contend with increasingly pervasive feelings of fear and desolation, all caught on videotape.

The first team of three looks for the fright stuff at Star Island in New Hampshire. Other destinations during the six-week series include Seaview Terrace in Newport, Rhode Island, and the West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundville, W. Va.

I hope that this is good. I loved Fear back in the day and was so mad it didn't last long enough for me to be old enough to be on it. Have you ever spent the night somewhere that was haunted? Would you if you were given the chance?

Fear was such astonishingly wonderful television for 9th grade me. The episode about the Sugar Shack will stay with me for life.

West Virginia State Penitentiary

Oh shit they're going there~~~

This is me exactly. My favorite was "La Guerre Plantation" where the door moved. It seems so lame now, but I loved it back then.

YES! That episode is ingrained in my mind, I've told a few people about it and it seems like few people saw the show.

That door shit stuck with me for a long time, it was like the only "evidence" they caught on that show imo

I did an overnight ghost tour at the Moundsville Penitentiary back in 2006 and it was absolutely TERRIFYING even though we didn't actually see ~ghosts~ or anything. Apparently I succumb very easily to the power of suggestion, LOL.

Oh, The Pen. It doesn't seem that scary but I've never been on a tour. I'd like to though.
