I was just saying above that it's interesting because my boyfriend, who is white legit get pressured to call his coworkers/friends that. They always tease him for being so "proper" around them. And in this case it's actually that we live in an all black neighborhood and he is the only white guy who works in the kitchen. I don't understand, and neither of us ever call anyone that but most of our friends still make fun of him.
I don't know why it happens, 2 1/2 years of living here and I am still trying to figure out why. The best answer I've gotten is from our neighbors cousin: "cause we all friends man! and that's what being friends is! being niggas! Get it boo?"
