Goya Awards announced, "Blancanieves" slays because it's awesome

The Spanish Film Academy’s Goya Awards are announced, and Pablo Berger’s Blancanieves (a twist on the Snow White fairytale) took Best Picture and nine other awards. Juan Antonio Bayona won Best Director for The Impossible, but handed the award over to María Belón at the awards ceremony; the film is based on her family's survival story during the 2004 Tsunami. The Impossible's Naomi Watts (who plays Maria) is competing for the Best Actress Oscar. Blancanieves" was Spain's Oscar submission, but it did not make the shortlist. Posting this because I stan hardcore for Blancanieves; it made my top ten list for 2012 and everyone should see it. WAY better than SWatH or Mirror Mirror. It's in limited release in the U.S. on March 15.

Saw it at TIFF it was really good!!! I think it's not as popular because last year it was all about The Artist

I'm sorry to say I haven't seen this movie, but can we talk about how embarrassing it was when they called out the wrong winner for Best Song?

The Impossible was just soooo bad.

I understand the emotional subject matter might sway the viewer but that movie could have been A LOT better.
