Marion Has Terrible Taste In Women

Marion Cotillard is "totally in love" with Best Actress fave Jennifer Lawrence, according to the French star, who won the award in 2007 for her role in La Vie En Rose.

Cotillard was thought to be in with a chance herself for her role in Rust and Bone, but failed to gain a nomination and is apparently prepared to leave the battle to Jen and fellow nominee Naomi Watts.

Asked about her performances of the year, she said: "Naomi Watts in The Impossible. Oh my God, prepare your tissue box. I didn’t know anything about the movie except it was about the tsunami. She totally killed me. And I’m totally in love with Jennifer Lawrence. She’s a prodigy. She’s 22, it’s insane."

Revealing to The Metro that she was impressed with Oscar fave Jen, nominated for her role in Silver Linings Playbook.

Despite being a relative outsider, Naomi got another vote from Niicole Kidman, who put the star alongside Emmanuelle Riva as the woman she wanted to win.

Youngster Jen is the current favourite to win Best Actress at 4/7, with Emmanuelle Riva moving to second favourite at 3/1 ahead of Jessica Chastain, who had previously been seen as the girl to beat Jen.

oh cool, we're calling people's opinions and preferences outright wrong now, good to know
goddlesssinner 18th-Feb-2013 10:30 pm (UTC)
it's not a preference when they say something was really good because it wasn't though.

Jennifer brought no depth to her character, it was totally one dimensional. If you compare performances about/related with mental illness Angelina Jolie is at the top. She brought so much depth to her character she makes Tiffany look like a baby chipmunk.

except there are plenty of people who would disagree with you about that so i guess it is a preference, unless for some reason your word is law and performances/art is suddenly completely objective

Actually, it is objective. I could go on and on how bad she was but I am telling you that her character was one dimensional. It was poorly written and she wanted to do too much with it but there was no real emotion behind her scenes and her crying scenes are forced. There is no passion inside her, no motivation and it shows.
