The dog, oddly, was a key figure in an investigation into the death of McCready's longtime boyfriend, David Wilson. Wilson died from a gunshot wound on January 13, 2013. McCready told NBC that her dog found the bullet.
"I didn't find the bullet, the dog did. It was in the dog's mouth. I mean, that's a horrific things to say, but it was in the dog's mouth," she said in an interview following Wilson's death. There had been some speculation as to whether Wilson's death was a suicide or whether there was foul play involved. When asked if she killed her boyfriend, McCready told NBC, "Oh my God, no. He was my life, we were each others' life."
McCready had plans to honor Wilson's memory. "Some kind of foundation for people to donate in David's name, probably something having to do with music, a scholarship fund," she told "Dateline." "David loved music more than anything. And he desperately wanted his music to be heard."

The sandy hook shooter was on the autism. His mental illness does not explain his actions. People with aspberger's have difficulty reading social cues and as a result can have trouble forming relationships, but we're not talking about a lack of empathy that he wasn't able to know that killing someone is wrong, or mental illness that causes him not to be in control of his behavior.
Mindy had addiction and possibly other mental illness. Addiction can cause intense destructive behavior. Without being her it's impossible to say what her thought process was during this but considering that addiction turned her life into a massive struggle, she deserves some sympathy. There's plenty to go around, you can recognize what she did was wrong without demonizing her, and you can feel lots of sympathy for her family without acting like she is a terrible person.
