I really believe that Sansa will survive the series.
And from reading theories from previous ONTD GoT posts, I'm convinced Arya is going to die.

But I'm curious about Arya, because apparently GRRM's wife joked that she will divorce him if he kills her off or something?

I do too- stanning aside, I just cannot imagine her being set up to die. She's learning the game, she's played the game since she was 13. She's a survivor.

Arya's arc has been set up as letting go of one's identity (to the point of, imo, death), and the "they'll find you in the spring, clutching your needle between your fingers" line from AGOT.

But see that could also mean they find her, alive and triumphant, clutching her sword between her hands. I am an Arya stan :-(

as a sansa stan and someone who enjoys arya a lot, I want both of them to make it out alive and go to winterfell together. I WANT TO BELIEVE

lol the perils of being an arya stan. i understand.

i'm just gonna pretend she'll make it out until the end. i do honestly believe she'll find her identity~ again because she still clings to it even as she's so keen on being no one. whether she'll die or not is another matter.
cerseilannister Re: Spoilers for ADWD16th-Feb-2013 08:14 am (UTC)
well there does seem to be a good possibility she'll die, but maybe grrm would do the reverse because it does seem obvious (i hope).

a lot of big things and characters have happened to end up east, and i think she'll end up in the thick of whatever is to come. grrm obviously adores her, so i doubt he threw her in braavos just to remain there forever and not advance the plot. she has learned valuable skills with the FM such as being stealth and some different languages.
i don't think she'll assassinate a big character considering she's just starting out (unless the FM wants to fuck her over for some reason. they're about as trustworthy as LF and Varys imo.) i also don't think she'll be the valonqar lol.
to me, it seemed like losing/regaining identity was a big part in ADWD with like theon, dany, and jon, so i don't think arya is going to remain no one even if takes her longer. even that quote with her dying with needle in her hand suggests she'll find her identity again as needle represents arya stark's life. going back to needle means leaving the FM since arya stark can't stay there.
/this little demon gives me a lot of feels sorry for the essay lmao.

I want Arya to live, if she dies I want to to only happen after she has done something that changes everything. Like defeating the white walkers or saving someone important who becomes king or queen. I am just really tired of all the abuse she goes through, she is one of the better character IMO.

Sansa's definitely going to make it. Homegirl is a survivor and a half! I think Bran and Rickon have a good chance as well.
