Sarah Michelle Gellar and Robin Williams. On TV. Together.
This is now a possibility.
Gellar is set to co-star in the CBS pilot Crazy Ones, a single-cam comedy about a father (Williams) and daughter who run an advertising agency together. The former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star will play Sydney Roberts, the intense and driven daughter of Williams’s Simon Roberts.
Gellar last headlined CW’s one-season drama Ringer, a role that was billed as her post-Buffy return to television and was part of the 2011-2012 TV season.
CBS announced the pilot order for Crazy Ones, a project by David E. Kelly, and two drama pilots earlier this month.
Krysten Ritter to star in NBC's 'Assistants'
Krysten Ritter is going from Apt. 23 to the corporate world.
The actress could rebound back into the primetime next season following the cancellation of her ABC sitcom Don’t Trust the B—-. She’s signed on to star in Assistants, which is officially described as a fast-moving comedy centered on Nora (Ritter), a “magnetic, hyperactive workaholic, with a sex appeal directly proportional to her anxiety level. Having fallen in love with the magic of moviemaking, she’s the overworked, harried, possibly happy personal assistant to a mercurial producer. But Nora tries (and usually fails) to have a personal life on the side, and is having a passionate affair with equally-busy med student Jeremy. Since her boss expects her to be on call all day and all night, something in Nora’s life is destined to blow a seam. But which will wither and die, her professional life or her personal one?”
The project is from writer Leslye Hedland and based on her play by the same name. It’s one of two assistant-themed comedy pilots in the works this season, the other is Fox’s To My Assistant, about underlings at a big NY law firm.
I am glad Krysten got another gig, but I am still mourning Don't Trust the B- tbh.
