Xtina leaves her dog TIED UP OUTSIDE while she goes for lunch



Singer Christina Aguilera went for a bite to eat Saturday in Los Angeles, but before going inside the restaurant to put in her order, she tied up her beloved pooch on a nearby post.

The brown and white speckled dog was clearly sad to see her go and looked a little forlorn.

Fortunately he was given lots of cuddles before his mistress popped inside the eatery briefly.

I don't do it. I live in the suburbs, however, and there's only houses around me. To walk to our 'square' is about five miles and my doggies are too old and fat to make the distance.

a lot of people do it in places where you can take your dog in, but I can only understand it if you're just going very quickly into a store, not actually having lunch. I wouldn't do it either way, especially if I had a pedigree dog since they could be stolen.

lol mte. i take my dog everywhere with me pretty much, and if i have to run into the store to buy something, i leave him outside tied to a pole or a tree or something. it's not like i'm inside for 45 minutes just perusing around. i'm in and out in five minutes

This. I have two dogs, a boxer and a pug, and I would NEVER tether them to a fucking street post while I go eat lunch. Maybe because I live in Minneapolis and there's a fair amount of assholes here but, I think that's just cruel and you have to be pretty damn trusting to do it.

This article is really unclear...
Leaving your dog tied up outside in the middle of a street for a few hours is bad but just for a few minutes is no big deal.

Exactly. A few minutes in line waiting for take out is different than sitting down for hours while your dog is tired to a tree.

its does say "his mistress popped inside the eatery briefly." i would take "briefly" as in a few minutes, but the article is a bit unclear. i do feel like if the dog was out there for an hour or two the article would be more scathing.

I wouldn't leave the dog outside for even a few minutes but I can understand why people would, I guess. you're right, the article is really unclear but if she was eating I think it must have been at least some 15 minutes.

She was in there a bit. This dog (Coco) actually went to her ex husband after the divorce. So it seems she was having a visit. Her ex was there at the restaurant too.

Why not take your dog out for a walk before or after you decide to get an inside meal so he won't have to be tied up and lonely for crying out loud?

That is really not a bright idea. Especially if anyone realizes that the dog belongs to a celebrity. It is not uncommon for dogs to be stolen.

Also, people are not kind in general. I just went to a huge adoption event this weekend and we were not allowed to leave water down for the dogs. We had to give them a drink and then immediately pick it back up. Apparently at a different event last year someone went around and put poison in water bowls that were lying around.

In general I would not leave my dog unattended in public... :(

We have serious problems with dog poisoning where I'm living right now. Giving them poisoned treats, poisoning little lakes where dogs frequently go, etc. etc. I'm so excited to be moving! It isn't the most pet-friendly place either but at least my lil guy isn't going to be targeted by evil people for absolutely no reason.

I volunteer at adoption events at Petsmart and I'm always afraid people are going to do something awful to the animals or just steal them. With the crowds, the volunteers can't see everything that is happening. I'm a bitch to unaccompanied children now because one boy took a kitten out and took off around the store with it. I'm also a bitch to dog owners who slowly walk their dogs by the cat cages and let them scare the cats who aren't dog-friendly. One of them told me "it's good for the cat to be around dogs." These cats are stressed out and are only in this environment because they need to be seen to get homes. This is not the place to introduce them to your little shit of a dog.

(I have a lot of feelings about this.)

Stuff like that makes me so scared of taking dogs out in public. That's why I'd put my dog in my purse if I ever took him out. I know some people don't like that idea, but he was 3 pounds, and when there were lots and lots of people around it made me nervous to have him down with all of that. He also loved being in my purse. He was one of those weird ones where he loved to go in my purse or car just to be there, then go to sleep after five minutes of looking around.

What kind of asshole even thinks of doing something so sick? At an adoption event, no less. Just go blow up an orphanage while you're at it! I'm always afraid my dogs are going to be poisoned through our fence. We live on a corner so our yard runs along the sidewalk. A lot of people walk by from the train station a block away. My three dogs are really small and yappy and people always yell "SHUT UP!" at them while they're walking by or will stop and harass them. People really hate small dogs.

I don't think its horrible to tie up your dog for something super quick but otherwise leave your dog at home. Besides not being fair to the dog it is not safe. People steal dogs like crazy and I can imagine it being worse if your famous.

I used to live in BFE MO and people were stealing dogs even then! I was so paranoid my bbs would be taken while I was taking them out to potty. I could not even imagine being a celeb and dealing with that.

I don't think it matters where you live people are sick. When I was looking for a dog online I would see soooo many people whos dogs were stole out of their backyard. As much as I would love to leave my dog in the backyard when I am at work I will not do it. He is a pitbull so I am even more paranoid I have read stories about people giving poison food or treats to pitbulls.

Luckily my dog has health problems (I mean it sucks) but he isn't the most attractive so I doubt anyone would ever steal him.

That's kind of what I was thinking lol. The paps would probably stay outside and wait for her to come back out so if someone tried to steal her dog they'd be photographed and hopefully the paps would do something about it...

I don't really have a problem leaving your dog outside a place if you're just going in for a bit, and who knows, she might have just gone in to get take out/a drink or whatever.

One of my dogs passed away a couple of months ago, and my other dog is still adjusting to being an only and hates being left home alone. Sometimes I wish I could take her to the store with me and leave her outside while I pop in, but I'm too paranoid.
