Loved SIde Effects. I still don't like Rooney but she was great.
solestella 10th-Feb-2013 02:14 am (UTC)
Went to see Warm Bodies last night, I loved it. It was filmed in my city though so everytime they showed parts of the city it took me a bit out of the movie. For example, there's no way you can get to the Olympic stadium from downtown on foot in a few minutes (we're talking 20 minutes BY car with no traffic).
nicenicegirl 10th-Feb-2013 02:15 am (UTC)
i'm always amused when movies are set in my city, but they weren't actually filmed here and it's obvious. they always make it look a whole lot nicer than it really is.
solestella 10th-Feb-2013 02:19 am (UTC)
yeah they usually pretend they're somewhere else which is just hilarious but this time they made it incredibly obvious they were in my city (big aerial shots) yet the license plates of the cars were all from somewhere else so in the end it was just confusing as to where they were pretending to be lol
mistress_f 10th-Feb-2013 02:33 am (UTC)
the most cringe worthy case of this for me (other than the overall ways americans esp. love to portray italy, as if it was a fucking dolce and gabbana ad) is an episode of gilmore girls where rory and her grandma come to rome and it's so... wrong.
__angelofmusic 10th-Feb-2013 02:18 am (UTC)
Haha, I hate when this happens. It totally ruined Alias for me when I was re-watching it because they used my building so much.
joaniemaloney 10th-Feb-2013 02:21 am (UTC)
haha I didn't even realize where it was supposed to be but now that I've read a bit on it I think I should've figured it out! :P
kissoffools 10th-Feb-2013 02:53 am (UTC)
LOL that's like the movie Fly Away Home. they filmed a bunch of it in my town and that part was all fine... but then later in the movie they showed a shot of them flying over a Southern town, and it was MY TOWN AGAIN.
naveedchick 10th-Feb-2013 02:14 am (UTC)
I can't wait for Stoker in March
derrobitch 10th-Feb-2013 02:16 am (UTC)

ichdontthinksoo 10th-Feb-2013 02:24 am (UTC)
YEEEEEEEEEEES <333 Haven't been this excited about a movie in quite a while.
karinette001 10th-Feb-2013 03:00 am (UTC)
saaaame
williammiller 11th-Feb-2013 08:16 am (UTC)
Me too! I hope there is some kind of limited release or something because I need to see it ASAp
mandramoddle 10th-Feb-2013 02:14 am (UTC)
Went out for dinenr and drinks with my friend, was home by 9. Meh.

I really need to get laid. It's been nearly like 3 weeks since I got any D.
lolbye 10th-Feb-2013 02:20 am (UTC)
3 weeks?

Bitch pls don't even.

Though, I'm not really looking for any...
mandramoddle 10th-Feb-2013 02:25 am (UTC)
I just want some loving, dammit.
mirandagirll 10th-Feb-2013 02:16 am (UTC)
But is this Channing's first movie he's headlined that isn't #1 at the BO? Just curious
redaodai 10th-Feb-2013 02:19 am (UTC)
The Eagle opened at #4, I think.
mirandagirll 10th-Feb-2013 02:21 am (UTC)
Ah, thank you.

I was just surprised Side Effects didn't do better what with The Vow and Magic Mike making bank last year.
__angelofmusic 10th-Feb-2013 02:17 am (UTC)
I had a girls night out for the first time in a long time. It was so nice. I forgot how soothing just hanging out and drinking with friends can be. It was the perfect cure for all the moving stress I'm dealing with. BLEH.
vindictaa 10th-Feb-2013 02:17 am (UTC)
we were expecting 40cm of snow last night so i went to the supermarket and bought stuff and then just stayed home. seriously there was nothing left on the shelves, i was in line for an hour and some, and there was literally no one outside after 8pm. you'd think the apocalypse was coming, people were going mad.

and i was stuck inside all day today, again bc of the snow.
twowaymirrrors 10th-Feb-2013 02:37 am (UTC)
lol I went on Thursday to get iced tea, salad mix, and snacks since we were out and there was nothing left in produce at all. People had their carts filled with tons of food that they probably wouldn't even use before it went bad. Like people, it's snow; just get what you need and go home.
vindictaa 10th-Feb-2013 02:50 am (UTC)
omg i knnnnooow tell me about it. there was people with carts FULL of food. and i'm standing there with a basket with yoghurt, crackers and grapefruit thinking, the blizzard will be 2 days AT MOST. you can go without 4 different varieties of juice until monday. and i live in a relatively newly built area, so it's not usually a busy supermarket. i got a headache just thinking about the lines at costco lol

idk wtf was wrong with people yesterday.
superdogbiter 10th-Feb-2013 02:18 am (UTC)
finally saw the hobbit and it was good
superdogbiter 10th-Feb-2013 02:18 am (UTC)
also it was my moms 51st birthday yesterday
lolbye 10th-Feb-2013 02:19 am (UTC)
I started watching Lost Girl this week and I'm pissed at ontd for putting Bo/Kenzi in my head. There is like NO fic for them smh.
icangoforthat 10th-Feb-2013 02:20 am (UTC)
I need to study. I have to two midterm next week, one on monday and tuesday. :(

and I finally watched pulp fiction all the way through. I don't know why I was never able to finish it
joaniemaloney 10th-Feb-2013 03:08 am (UTC)
aw good luck with your midterms!
williammiller 11th-Feb-2013 08:16 am (UTC)
I wish you luck!
_dennis_csi_ 10th-Feb-2013 02:21 am (UTC)
There is nothing I wanna see in theathres rn. They are showing both lincoln and zero dark thirty but both leaked ages ago. I need new movies
mandramoddle 10th-Feb-2013 02:28 am (UTC)
Yah, that's how I've been feeling lately too, I can't think of anything I'll be stoked to go see.
laurshel 10th-Feb-2013 02:39 am (UTC)
That's deliberate. The studios dump all the meh movies in theaters in Jan and Feb. March is when the good stuff starts getting released.
cammiec 10th-Feb-2013 02:21 am (UTC)
How was Identity Thief? I was gonna see it today, but my bf asked me to wait until he comes back next week.
ichdontthinksoo 10th-Feb-2013 02:22 am (UTC)
I wanna watch Identity Thief. My crush on Jason Bateman knows no limits.
reach_the_end 10th-Feb-2013 02:34 am (UTC)
For real. I just started watching Arrested Development for the first time and my Jason Bateman feelings are at an all-time high. He's such a cutie pie.

ichdontthinksoo 10th-Feb-2013 02:47 am (UTC)
Is it your first time watching AD? It's soooo good. And Michael was so adorable, I fell in love with him more and more as the eps went by <3
solestella 10th-Feb-2013 02:25 am (UTC)
Also R's real name is so Romeo.
mellarks 10th-Feb-2013 02:31 am (UTC)
It's all so not subtley Romeo and Juliet that it makes me laugh when people are all OMG about it.

R - Romeo
Julie - Juliet
M - Mercutio/Marcus
Perry = Paris
Nora = the nursemaid
Cabarnet = Capulet
solestella 10th-Feb-2013 02:42 am (UTC)
the "balcony" scene alone made it glaringly obvious, so I'm surprised people are wondering what it is. Ryan seems to be a strong contender lol

joaniemaloney 10th-Feb-2013 03:08 am (UTC)
wow I'm an idiot. haha this is cute.
dynamite_state 10th-Feb-2013 12:31 pm (UTC)
lol I thought this was obvious when watching the movie
