EUROVISION POST: Greek National Final will snatch everyone's wigs, IJAF

Past Eurovision winners Alexander Rybak, Ruslana, Marija Serifovic, Dima Bilan, Helena Paparizou  and Vicky Leandros will perform @ the Greek National Final

A glamorous night is gearing up in Athens for the Greek National Final as already reported. That night we couldn’t miss Eleftheria Eleftheriou and Ivi Adamou as the Eurovision tradition orders. Besides the guest appearances by Alexander Rybak, Ruslana, Marija Serifovic and Dima Bilan performing in duets with Kostas Martakis, Eleni Foureira, VEGAS group and Demy oikotimes.com has new information.
During the show another special duet will appear on stage: Cyprus and Greece entrants of Eurovision 2012 will also appear on stage but Eleftheria Eleftheriou and Ivi Adamou will perform their Eurovision entries but in a way that will surprise us all! (at this moment we are embargoed with the information). Once again the MAD concept for a show-never-been-made-before brings more excitement to the Eurofans (at least).
The grand night of Greek National Final 2013 is set for February 18
stay tuned for more…

+ official Greek TV Spot:

[BONUS] ROBBED QUEEN Valentina Monetta will represent San Marino once again

At a special press conference held this morning, SMTV has revealed that for the second successive year Valentina Monetta will be performing the San Marino entry in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The song entitled Crisalide, or Chrysalis in the English version, will also be composed once again by Ralph Siegel, with Mauro Balestri this time providing the lyrics.

In recent weeks there has been much speculation as to who would represent the small republic in Malmö, with many reckoning that a previous entrant would be making a return appearance to the contest.

In that respect the rumours have been correct, as the previous entrant has turned out to be Valentina Monetta who represented San Marino in the 2012 edition.

Since last summer, SMTV had received many different proposals regarding their 2013 entry. The television station appointed a commission made up of three Sammarinese professional musicians, and assisted by this commission SMTV decided to choose the proposal sent in by Ralph Siegel and Valentina Monetta.

Siegel has worked on many songs with Monetta since the summer of 2012. In August they recorded a selected number of songs, amongst which they have chosen Crisalide as the one to be presented to SMTV. The song has been especially written to suit Monetta's vocal characteristics, and is described as having an Italian style melody with a modern pop sound in the final minute, and Monetta is the perfect singer for it, both in Italian and English.

The actual song will be showcased and presented to the public at a later date in a special programme broadcast on San Marino RTV, and via satellite and the web.

SMTV has shared all artistical choices with the production team, and has asked for the asistance of Fabrizio Raggi, a Sammarinese actor and director, who has worked a lot with Monetta during the summer of 2012. He's the director of two shows in which Monetta sings her brand new CD and performs the works of various lyricists. The shows are Camelia and Ma Che Differenza Fa.

loveumbrella 9th-Feb-2013 03:17 pm (UTC)
one of the biggest reasons to love eurovision is because everyone else but the europeans are so fucking confused by everything
showmesara 9th-Feb-2013 04:40 pm (UTC)
nah, I'm European and I'm still confused when I see old ladies and gay pirates singing on stage

violet_crumble9 9th-Feb-2013 10:50 am (UTC)
my friend knew rybak before he went on eurovision. she said she just met him somewhere and she and her friends let him stay with them. then they went like, horse riding and bicycling together. she said he mentioned he was going to audition for eurovision and she was all, 'yea okay sure you are'. then he won it.

csb.

devolute 9th-Feb-2013 11:00 am (UTC)
Eurovision is one of those things that makes me reflect on the whole history of life on earth and humanity and wonder at how we've come to this point, you know? Like the fact that we exist at all is incredible and with our precious life and abilities we create Eurovision and sustain it over decades. It's amazing, the universe is amazing.
mikochin 9th-Feb-2013 11:01 am (UTC)
Put down that joint sis, that's enough.

magli 9th-Feb-2013 04:43 pm (UTC)
lol I AGREE WITH YOU! Or it could be seen as kinda depressing that the one thing Europe can agree on is this wacky song contest.
mikochin 9th-Feb-2013 11:00 am (UTC)
...How the fuck can they afford that considering the EU is showering money over them to keep them floating. Wtf.
dynamite_state 9th-Feb-2013 11:06 am (UTC)
iirc, all the money for this comes from sponsors this time, actually. + the final is not organised by the national Greek TV for the 1st time aka again, we pay zilch <3
mikochin 9th-Feb-2013 11:35 am (UTC)
Oh, then it's all good I guess. :) I just remember there being all this "WE CAN'T JOIN ESC THIS YEAR UNLESS YOU PAY FOR US"-thing going around a few months ago(not only for Greece though, for other countries with economic problems as well). So I jumped to that conclusion. Glad to hear it's not that way though.
miss_real 9th-Feb-2013 03:31 pm (UTC)
A few countries, UK, Germany, France, (possibly) Spain?! Always put loads of money up for Eurovison.

This is the reason these countries are ALWAYS in the final, without having to qualify like everyone else.
sasha10186 9th-Feb-2013 05:27 pm (UTC)
The EU isn't "showering money" over Greece to keep it afloat because they care about Greece (and money that so far, hasn't helped one bit), they're giving loans trying to keep Greece from going bankrupt because they want to save their own asses, but that's an entirely different topic..
dynamite_state 9th-Feb-2013 11:02 am (UTC)
solely based on social media popularity, our song will either be Lena 2.0:

or this fabulousness that'll slay Europe:
nalty7 9th-Feb-2013 11:35 am (UTC)
I love the second.
dynamite_state 9th-Feb-2013 11:38 am (UTC)

puremorning2468 9th-Feb-2013 01:38 pm (UTC)
I love the second one. Balkan folk inspired music is the best.
