Harry Potter megastar Emma Watson, whose Perks Of Being A Wallflower releases to DVD next week, is featured in the February, 2013 issue of Vanity Fair Italia, and in her interview, she offers up some very strong words in support of Twilight Saga star Kristen Stewart. From VF Italy (translation via) Watson addressed the constant media scrutiny Stewart has received over the past year for her personal life choices, saying "Those who criticized her are the same people that think that being rich and famous is like being covered in some kind of magic powder that makes life perfect: Nothing can go wrong in your wonderful world. For these people, Kristen deserves all the bad things that have been thrown at her because she had an amazing life and she ruined it."
Watson, who spent time with Stewart and The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence during an event in November, 2012, added, "I don't know how to explain it, but it sure isn't perfect. I thought that the media picked on her in a very horrible way. Kristen is human, just like everybody else, and she's so young. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone. It's not fair to consider them matters of public interest. On one hand, I can understand why it happened: people felt really involved in her relationship with Robert Pattinson. But it's also true that they both have done everything in their power to keep their relationship as far from the public eye as possible."
More from Watson's VF Italy feature can be found here.
So ... thoughts? The last time someone got this fired up on the issue, it was Jodie Foster, who portrayed her mother in Panic Room more than ten years before and who wrote a full essay on the issue condemning all the vitriol.

she got criticized because sleeping with a married man w/ children is shitty and selfish no matter who you are.
And then all those pretentious mocking undertones to some of the articles as if betraying your partner and kids is the height of liberated sexuality
no....no. most people instantly bristle at someone when they find out they willingly made a choice to have an affair with a man who was married (to someone you knew no less) and had children. and then when you mention that its "oh so its all her fault? the man doesnt get hate? TYPICAL". despite the fact that the 'man' wasnt mentioned because he wasnt the person we were talking about 1., 2., isn't the famous party involved and 3., saying one part involved is shitty doesnt negate the other party involved being equally as shitty,
her defenders really grate me. not just for their opinions but at their really ridiculous attempts to deflect arguments about Kstew.
IA though. I'm not much of a KS fan but people need to get over it. How many male celebs are notorious cheaters and everyone still loves them?
How do these two constantly get roles? Neither can act.
pretty much dripping with talent, even
