The Office will end its nine-season run with an hour-long episode — the show’s 200th! — on Thursday, May 16 at 9/8c, NBC announced Thursday.

No other details were provided, but one thing appears certain: Steve Carell will not be participating in it.

As TVLine reported last month, the comedy’s original boss nixed an offer to reprise his role as Michael Scott one last time.

“I just didn’t think it was right for the character, because that character had had an arc within the story and kind of grew and sort of evolved past the idea of the documentary,” he told Access Hollywood. “I’m really good friends with everybody on the cast and with [executive producer] Greg Daniels and I want to go back to say, ‘Hi,’ certainly, before it all ends. but I just thought, in terms of the character, it didn’t make sense.”

No way is Pam going to cheat on Jim with Brian. 100% not happening.

I hate Jim, but I don't want any(more) cheating storylines.

I personally just got tired of Jim's schtick (look awkwardly into the camera and be a bigger ass to Dwight than Dwight is to him... mind you Dwight is ignorant and not hateful whereas Jim's actions says otherwise). Also, in a recent episode, he got in a huge fight with Pam that was kind of heartbreaking.

Yeah I saw the fight, it was so sad

Oh really? Sorry, but THANK GOD. Besides the two just becoming insufferable, I thought their relationship was boring. Yeah, a loving, stable relationship is nice to see. But there was literally no tension EVER. It was a lot of "Oh! Jim did something! Pam might be mad! JK she actually loves it! YAY!"

I thought the episode where Pam's parents divorced showed some promise. It made her think about her own marriage and the possibility they to could divorce one day. But nope, just kidding, it ends with a gross romantic "he told me how you feel when I walk in a room" scene and YAY JIM AND PAM LOVE EACH OTHER EVEN MORE. Vomit.

What was the fight about?
redaodai 7th-Feb-2013 06:52 pm (UTC)
Their marriage is strained because Jim's working in Philly, and Pam is raising their kid alone. Jim asked Pam to record their daughter's dance recital, but Pam didn't (when she thought she was recording it). Jim snapped at her and they got into a big fight over everything else.

Ahhh, gotcha. Thanks!

I don't want to see anymore Brian but I thought the fight was the best thing I'd seen on the show all season.
redaodai 7th-Feb-2013 06:59 pm (UTC)
Yeah, the fight was really well done. I don't mind Brian as long as nothing serious happens between him and Pam. Which I doubt unless the writers really hate Jim/Pam.

I still love him, but he's been an ass lately.

He's been acting like an inconsiderate, selfish dick this season.
