Queen June Drops 100 lbs

Th Here Comes Honey Boo Boo atriarch says she has shed more than 100 lbs. – without dieting or ever setting foot in a gym, TMZ reports

"I haven't done any surgeries ... no diet pills ... never went to the gym," June says. "But with the show I've been more active."

Mama June – whose real name is June Shannon – says that when she first started taping the TLC reality show in January 2011, she weighed 365 lbs. But now she says she weighs 263 lbs. – a 102-lb. weight loss

"They have me running around and going different places ... I guess it's paying off," she says.

Recently, Mama June revealed that she set up a trust fund or her daughter, Alanna "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson – who makes anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000 an episode – and for her other daughters, and it won't be available to them until they each turn 21.

Don't really mind that she lost weight because I think she's great either way.  But I need more Honey Boo Boo gifs, so let's go.

Good for her! I wish I could do that. Last year I was dieting like mad, working out for at least 30 minutes every day and I barely lost anything. It got frustrating so I gave up. I think I'm gonna have to go the lap band surgery route. :/

Don't know anything about you, but a couple of things about weight loss. A lot of people eat way too little to loose weight thinking the less is more route. Your body still needs a certain caloric intake to function without thinking you are in a famine like environment. I love doing Weight Watchers and loose a crap ton of weight when I actually eat what I'm supposed to and don't slack off.

If that isn't the issue, I know of quite a few girls who do everything right and don't loose an ounce only to find out they have insulin resistance due to PCOS. It's not diabetes, but very similar and with a combination of following a diabetic diet and treatment for the PCOS, were finally able to drop weight.

That said, if I ever win the lottery (gotta buy tickets to win...) I am going to do the lap band myself because my stomach is just too big and always feels empty after a regular human sized meal and I have no idea how to shrink it naturally.

One time I did Weight Watchers and I lost 60lbs in about 8 months (which, honestly wasn't really noticeable, or at least I didn't notice and I was still wearing the same clothes as always) but then I had to have some major surgery and I couldn't work out, had to increase calories, etc. I did think Weight Watchers was pretty easy, but I felt like they gave me *way* too many points. Like I was leaving 10-15 points unused every day, never using any of the activity or flex points. Maybe that's why it worked, IDK. I'm thinking about rejoining, but they changed the plan so I'm wondering how this new 360 plan compares to the old Points Plus/Flex Points plans.

I don't think I have PCOS, everything as far as my cycle and stuff is pretty normal. But it was really frustrating to work out and really really watch what I eat and see barely anything happen. I'd think I wasn't working out hard enough, and yet other people would say things like they just took walks or started with a few minutes of activity and lost weight and I'd be like "I'm eating 1000 calories a day and working out to the point of feeling like shit and I'm not losing half that." It became so exhausting to maintain.

http://www.dietdoctor.com/lchf is a good guideline to follow if you want to try something else

you don't need to go insane counting calories and whatnot. just whole fat, healthy foods. grassfed meats, pasture butter, raw cheese, etc. no low fat processed stuff. strength training is more important than mindless cardio that can increase stress and inflammation in the body

it's INSANELY frustrating bb, i feel you. maybe try a higher protein/lower carb diet, something along the same lines as atkins but without the frankenfood bars and shakes.. haha.

Yeah, I have a slow metabolism because my thyroid shit the bed a few years ago, and making sure I'm getting the right amount of calories is huge. If I dip below 1300 a day, my body is like "uh oh, better shut it down even more" and I can't lose any weight. Weird.

I once overheard someone talking about how you need to work out like an hour a day just to maintain your weight. I don't know if that's true or not.

No, that's not true.

You don't need to work out, really... Working out is for that little extra boost and for getting "in shape." Abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym.

Of course it is great to include that into your daily routine and it will sure amplify the weight loss process but overall, you should be doing your best to eating the BEST foods you can and responsibly eating reasonable amounts of those that aren't the best.

I'm disinclined to believe that.

Largely it all depends upon the amount of calories you take in. If you eat a lot, then yes you need to work out a lot to burn the excess calories. If you don't take in as many calories, you don't need to exercise as much. Of course if you take in too few calories your body flips out and goes into starvation mode and it makes it hard to lose weight.

Like I am supremely lazy but my caloric intake stays pretty stable so my weight stays the same.

Good God, I'd die at that. Half an hour about kills me and I never really gained any more stamina to go further.

Not helped by the giant sandbags on my chest that no sports bra in existence can contain. :/

no thats a load of bull.
its all about calorie intake and calories burned at the end of the day

each person is different regarding the amount of calories needed per day. if you consume more calories -> gain weight. consume less calories -> lose weight. consume the same amount needed -> maintain weight.

I did the Lap-Band and it didn't work for me because it restricts my food intake too much. I was eating less than 1,000 calories a day (between not being hungry and not being able to eat a lot of food at one time) and didn't lose any weight. Then I started gaining again.

I finally had a couple of loosenings and am now eating around 1,700 calories a day (I'm using the Lose It! app on my iphone) and have lost more weight in the last two months than I did in the last year.

And, even knowing now that that's the reason why I didn't lose weight until now as well as seeing on a day-to-day basis that I will gain two pounds in a day if I didn't eat enough the day before AND still having fluid in my Band -- I still have to eat junk food some days to hit my calorie intake. In fact, I was very active at the gym for a couple of months and then realized that I had to choose between being in shape but not losing the weight (because there was no way for me to hit 1,700 calories AND make up what I was losing by working out) or just to lose weight.

I'm not saying that that's everyone's problem, but it was mine and the Lap-Band was the third worst thing I could have done to lose weight (second and first worst things being the Sleeve or Gastric Bypass which aren't technically reversible).

Mind you, I still think that the Lap-Band is a wonderful tool when it works and I know two handfuls of people who have been very successful on it.

But it is a hell of a lot easier to commit to eating more food for a week or two to see if that helps than it is to do a two-week liquid diet for no reason.
