Don't really mind that she lost weight because I think she's great either way.  But I need more Honey Boo Boo gifs, so let's go.

i have such a hard time losing weight, it sucks. i cut down from drinking 5-6 sodas a day to only having 2 or 3 a week and haven't dropped a pound, even though i do feel better. i don't have time to join a gym, but i have an almost two year old so i'm fairly active just chasing him around. we only eat out maybe once a week when we order pizza and i make home cooked meals every other night and they're never terribly unhealthy i don't think. maybe it's my birth control. idk i'm just annoyed because nothing is really helping and even if i could just lose 10 lbs i'd feel better.

my parents lost 60 pounds between the two of them by cutting out:

- corn syrup
- bleached sugar
- bleached flour
- hydrogenated anything

they aren't even active (and they're in their 50s). the weight literally just fell off. I'm one of those assholes that can eat whatever whenever and never gain a pound but seeing how fit they're getting with so little effort kinda kickstarted my own diet thing -- I avoid hydrogenated anything, corn syrup, and bleached flour. Sugar still has a chokehold on me tho. I need it to live...

tbh once you cut out sugar and "detox" you sometimes find it nasty afterwards. I couldn't even eat a slice of white bread without thinking it was too sweet after I quit all refined sugars. (I still cheat a Reese's holiday blob every now and then tho, can't quit Reese's...)

I always wonder how bitter are Eden & Mackenzie are about Alana (rightfully) rising to the top.

Aw you go girl!! I switched to a no-sugar low-carb diet for my PCOS and I lost 6 pounds the first week, but it's been fluctuating since then. Grr! I retain water so bad sometimes. Hopefully I'll start losing again

Did your doc start you on any mediation?

When I was diagnosed, I started on the generic metformin and didn't see any change. After a year, I switched to Fortamet and lost 35lbs in 4 months. I've joked about stopping it for 6 months, just to restart it and see if I lose more.
lonely_goatherd 8th-Feb-2013 01:15 am (UTC)
Yeah I tried metformin (500 mg 2x daily) and i dunno, I felt really dizzy a lot and just spacey, like i couldn't make my brain work, so I decided just to try my best to eat according to the glycemic index, like eat like a diabetic basically, and I feel so much better, even if I haven't lost too much weight. I'd say I'm only about 25-30 lbs overweight now, if that. I'm just a little pudgy around the midsection, so my quality of life is the goal, not really losing weight. but that is a plus!
it_llbeyourname 6th-Apr-2013 10:55 pm (UTC)
have you tried spironolactone? that's what i'm on and it's making no. difference. whatsoever.
it_llbeyourname 6th-Apr-2013 10:54 pm (UTC)
ughh i am having the biggest slump in my weightloss-- i have pcos and have been doing the no sugar thing as well. i gained thirty pounds last year in what felt like the blink of an eye and it is so impossible to shift it. do you exercise too?

I've lost about 8 kg (17 lbs) since this summer when I moved away from home. IDK how it happened, but suddenly my pants are trying to migrate off my ass. I'm almost tempted to just eat cake until I can fit back into them, because I really hate buying clothes.

How immobile must you be to lose 100 lbs by doing promo alone.

I've turned to a basically completely homeopathic, organic lifestyle but I'm getting concerned because all of the stuff I have cut out is really reminding me of my ED days. I'm doing it be healthy, but it's really turning into an obsessive thing and it's stressing me out :/
koalafrog 8th-Feb-2013 12:30 am (UTC)
I'm sorry bb I recently struggled with that, too, and ended up on a more paleo-esque diet because I'm still eating clean and organic but I can also use fats. Once I started getting more fats in my system, my anxiety and depression also got a lot better and I had less restrictive thoughts in general. It's really just a matter of finding what's right for your body.

Good luck! Hopefully once your body adjusts to the homeopathic lifestyle you'll start to feel better all around :)

And I'm pissed because I got this new pair of pink jeans and didn't try them before buying them. I got home and wore them and don't remember taking the tags off, but when I was wearing them I was like, "Wow these are big" and then I looked more closely - I had grabbed a six instead of a zero! Ugh
treradical 7th-Feb-2013 09:15 pm (UTC)
that's impressive but she hasn't changed her diet at all so i can't see the weight staying off after she's done with the show
