Flawless Taissa Officially Returning for AHS Season 3

Taissa Farmiga is officially coming back for the third season of American Horror Story.

Farmiga, 18, joins several of the FX horror show's previously announced cast members including Sarah Paulson Evan Peters Lily Rabe and Jessica Lange, who won an Emmy for her Season 1 performance.

Unlike the other four, Farmiga was one of the few Season 1 regulars who did not return for American Horror Story: Asylum. At a screening of the Season 2 finale last month, co-creator Ryan Murphy old reporters to expect more Season 1 cast members to return.

Farmiga will also next be seen in the drama The Bling Ring.

American Horror Story: Asylumwraps up its brilliant second season tonight but co-creator Ryan Murphy is already planning out the third instalment of his FX mini-series: EW has learned exclusively that season 1 star Taissa Farmiga (Higher Ground) is in talks to rejoin the series for season 3. Farmiga, who played the troubled teen Violet, would be one of the leads o AHS‘ very secretive third go-round and would join fellow alums Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters.

Explains Murphy “I missed her this season. There wasn’t really a role for her. I feel very protective of her and I didn’t want her to go back into the loony bin—it was too dark. So I thought well ‘I want Taissa to be one of the leads next year.’ I called her up and pitched her the character for the season and she loved it and she said, ‘Yes let’s do it.’ So we’re in negotiations for her to headline season 3.”

Murphy told EW previously that he missed the Violet/Tate storyline from the first season and wanted season three to have more romance; Farmiga’s character will be involved in that part of AHS 3 which Murphy hopes to shoot in three different cities.

Someone explain AHS to me. I feel I'd like it but is it actually a horror? On TV?

Explain please.

season 2 is better for actual horror and it's fast-paced whereas season 1 is a little slower and more campy but still enjoyable. both seasons are like stand-alone miniseries.

the first season is set in the present day, and it's about a family of three who move into a murder house (obv they don't know that in the beginning lol). there are flashbacks each ep to different people who have lived in the house previously... i don't know how much to say without spoiling you lol

seasons 2 stars quite a few people from the first season in completely different roles. it's a lot scarier compared to the season 1. it's set in the sixties, in an asylum for the criminally insane run by nuns. there's possession, murderers, mad scientists, etc.

Kinda like The Twilight Zone but every season is in a different setting.

I like to compare it to a Shakespeare repertory theatre... only Murph isn't Shakespeare. It's how I explain it to everyone though. Same troop of actors portraying a new 'play' every year.

And at first I hated the idea... but now I'm kinda in love with it.

That's true too.
