The duo, who co-wrote the indie romantic comedy feature, have inked a two-year pod deal with Warner Bros. Television. Under the pact -- which marks the writing team's first pod deal -- the duo will develop, write and produce their own comedy and drama projects for both cable and network TV.

Jones and McCormack penned Celeste, which premiered last year at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to earn an Independent Spirit Award nomination for best first screenplay. Jones starred opposite Andy Samberg, with McCormack also playing one of the latter's friends. The pair are currently writing the Universal/Imagine feature Frenemy of the State.

On the small screen, Jones co-stars on NBC's Amy Poehler starrer Parks and Recreation, while McCormack has had arcs on In Plain Sight, Brothers & Sisters and Dirt. Jones and McCormack co-wrote and developed We Are Puppets for Showtime.

Jones is repped by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Schreck Rose; McCormack is with UTA and Loeb & Loeb.

At Warner Bros. Television, the pair join showrunners including Chuck Lorre, J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Greg Berlanti and Kevin Williamson, among others.

Well, she had a film out and it I didn't get that feel from it. I haven't watched it yet but even still she doesn't seem like that type of person.
devolute 7th-Feb-2013 03:38 am (UTC)
she definitely dresses like a hipster but her sense of humor and attitude seem down to earth to me tbh. she doesn't seem like she's going out of her way to be whimsical.

i won't judge til i see
treebraids 7th-Feb-2013 10:18 am (UTC)
Maybe not twee. but, definitely annoying and hipster.

i love will and remember when he only got serial killer guest spots on shows (or still does on occasion, e.g. alphas)

Getting serious Donnie Pfaster vibes off this dude.

Do you color your hair, Rashida?
moddchicc 7th-Feb-2013 02:05 am (UTC)
I like Rashida in stuff like Parks & Rec and Freaks & Geeks, but I didn't like Celeste & Jesse that much, tbh.

I really enjoyed Celeste and Jesse Forever. She was great, the story was engaging, and the soundtrack was sooo good.

I like her a lot but I thought Celeste and Jesse forever was awful- it dragged and dragged and there was zero chemistry between her and Andy Samberg. Elijah Wood's bits seemed so forced and token-y as well.

Is his face always that terrifying? He looks like he belongs on an episode of the Twilight Zone.
themalle 7th-Feb-2013 02:37 am (UTC)
I'm currently rewatching The Sopranos and isn't he the guy who plays Dr. Melfi's son? (also, I almost pissed myself at 15-year old Gaga randomly popping up in season 3, WTF)
romp 7th-Feb-2013 02:46 am (UTC)
She looks so much like her mother in that photo.
oh7 7th-Feb-2013 02:47 am (UTC)
I wonder if any of the projects will feature a Black lead.
roguewave3 7th-Feb-2013 02:49 am (UTC)
good question
smilofax 7th-Feb-2013 10:07 am (UTC)
Has she ever played a bi-racial character?
oh7 7th-Feb-2013 12:56 pm (UTC)
I don't know. I assumed when maybe race or her character's last name wasn't mentioned that she was playing biracial. I don't know, I could see most of her characters being White, though.

Ohhh, so THAT'S who Dwight's friend is. My boyfriend and I were trying to figure out each character from last week's episode.

i used to think she was kinda bland but she's actually hilarious and nice and a beautiful tropical fish
nunya_b 7th-Feb-2013 03:46 am (UTC)
Will McCormack can actually be okay looking I don't know what's going on in that photo

Celeste and Jesse Forever was one of my favorite films of last year so this is good news
