ABC Family has picked up two new one-hour drama pilots: The Jennifer Lopez- produced The Fosters, as well as Twisted, from Gavin Palone (Gilmore Girls).

Created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige (Queer As Folk), The Fosters involves a “multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids being raised by two moms,” according to the press release. The series will star Teri Polo (Meet the Parents), Sherri Saum (In Treatment) and Jake T. Austin (Wizards of Waverly Place), among others.

Twisted (originally titled Socio) is a mystery about a “16-year-old with a troubled past who recently reconnected with his two female best friends from childhood. He becomes the prime suspect when a fellow student is surprisingly found dead in her home.” The show will star Avan Jogia (Victorious), Sam Robards (Treme, Gossip Girl), and Denise Richards.

Both series will premiere on ABC Family this summer.

Mte, especially with how bad the original has gotten. I am calling it right now, the main dude has a super secret twin hiding out somewhere. Not gonna lie, Lying Game is my shit, though.

And adults more involved in the teen drama than the teens themselves and some kind of dance/gala/ball to prepare for every other episode.
