Jennifer Lawrence & Jessica Chastain Attend The Hollywood Reporter's Nominees Night

Jennifer Lawrence, Sally Field and Amy Adams were also among the contenders who mingled at the annual event, which featured a DJ set from Snoop Dogg (aka DJ Snoopadelic).

The Hollywood Reporter's Nominees Night celebration lured Oscar nominees including Jennifer Lawrence, Ben Affleck, Steven Spielberg, Jessica Chastain and Amy Adams to Beverly Hills on Feb. 4 for an intimate event at the recently renovated Spago.

Hosted by THR editorial director Janice Min and THR svp publisher Lynne Segall, the fete unfolded at Wolfgang Puck's Beverly Hills hotspot, with nominees enjoying a night out following the Academy Awards Nominee luncheon held earlier in the day.

Argo director-producer-star Affleck, fresh off his win at the DGA Awards on Saturday, gushed about his experience during awards season, which he said gave him the "opportunity to be around people I really admire."

“Most of the shit in my life in terms of my day to day interactions with show business has to do with paparazzi taking pictures of my kids,” he confessed. “This is something wholly different and it revitalizes my enthusiasm for why I wanted to do this from thebeginning.”

Nominated Lincoln director Spielberg held court with his starSally Field who is nominated for best supporting actress and producer Kathleen Kennedy, while also posing for photos with DreamWorks Animation CEOJeffrey Katzenberg. Spielberg also chatted with Les Miserables director Tom Hooper, and nominated best actress Naomi Watts (The Impossible) stopped by to speak with him.

Mingling with the Oscar nominees were several top executives, including Fox Filmed Entertainment chair Jim Gianopulos, Paramount vice chair Rob Moore, Universal co-chairman Donna Langley,Guggenheim Digital Media CEO Ross Levinsohn, Warner Bros.' Sue Kroll and Blair Rich, Sony Pictures Classics co-president Michael Barker and president of Disney-ABC Television Group Anne Sweeney.

Best actress nominee Lawrence (Silver Lining Playbook) was still glowing from the Oscar Luncheon. She spent some time with her co-stars, Chris Tucker and Julia Stiles, who stayed at THR's party until late in the night. Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell and co-star Jacki Weaver also joined in on the celebration.

"It's an unbelievable feeling to just look around at people who have been your heroes forever and to just be in the same room as them," Lawrence told THR. "The women that I'm nominated with really just make it so much more special just to think that I could be even in the same sentence as them."

Also nominated for best actress, Zero Dark Thirty star Chastain -- wearing Givenchy and Christian Louboutin -- flew into Los Angeles from New York on Sunday night to attend the Oscar nominees luncheon and THR's party on Monday night.

"I've heard so much, what a great year it is for women in cinema, women in film, but to be honest, in my opinion, I believe a great year for women in film is just a great year for film," said Chastain, who stars as a CIA operative who is vital in the hunt of Osama bin Laden. "So it's very exciting to be a part of that year in film."

Among the highlights of the evening was an appearance by DJ Snoopadelic (aka Snoop Lion, Snoop Dogg), who took to the turntables for an hour to DJ the evening, playing a wide variety of hits, fromCyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" to Dawn Penn's "You Don't Love Me (No, No, No)."

Sponsors for The Hollywood Reporter's Nominees Night party included Pandora, Samsung Galaxy, Audi, Zenith, Woodford Reserve and Finlandia.

Poor Jen, when Rachel doesn't screw her over, her hairstylist does. Jessica is a goddess.

I am starting to think maybe she is just not photogenic. I can relate because while I think I am a decently attractive person in real life, my photos tell a whole different story.
expromqueen 5th-Feb-2013 03:14 pm (UTC)
hehe me, too...though i might just be in denial and i might actually be ugly XD
mrscantelope 5th-Feb-2013 03:16 pm (UTC)
I'm sure you're not ugly! Some people just don't photograph well. And some people photograph really well (and look better than they do in real life).
bossm 5th-Feb-2013 03:18 pm (UTC)
I have the same problem. I always look so strange in pictures.
astrologee 5th-Feb-2013 04:19 pm (UTC)
i look terrible in pictures, you're not alone in feeling ugly bb.
winegums 5th-Feb-2013 04:22 pm (UTC)
I feel the same tbh

I hate being photographed for this exact reason - I'm not shy, just vain.
bienenkiste 5th-Feb-2013 04:47 pm (UTC)

lady_iriska 5th-Feb-2013 03:19 pm (UTC)

yeah, she usually looks fine in motion (and in some pictures she looks gorgeous, it's just like 50/50 whether it is terrible or decent haha)
kwikimart 5th-Feb-2013 03:45 pm (UTC)
I don't think she is photogenic really unless it's a heavily shopped/styled pic

She looks FANTASTIC in motion but in pics? yikes
winegums 5th-Feb-2013 04:14 pm (UTC)
same here tbh, and she doesn't even look THAT bad in photographs.

also lbr the camera does not see things the same way a human eye does. Which is why people look shit in photographs.
hotdog 5th-Feb-2013 04:15 pm (UTC)
ia, i think she's really not photogenic. she looks gorgeous in interviews and movies but in red carpet pictures she looks so strange.
ponpiri 5th-Feb-2013 04:17 pm (UTC)
lol same

Someone who met her said that she's "gorgeous" irl and that her face doesn't look as wonky.
ladybozi 5th-Feb-2013 04:21 pm (UTC)
I agree. I have to have perfect lighting in order to get a good pic. Other then that- my face looks lopsided and shit.
creative_candy 6th-Feb-2013 02:27 pm (UTC)
