He's 31 I think. I thought he was ignoring me but he texted yesterday saying, "I'm so busy, I have my first trial on Monday! I'll take you out on Tuesday!" which is the only cute thing a lawyer has ever said. We're probably just going for drinks.

I'm not a dating expert by ANY means but dress cute without looking like a try hard and just talk about whatever you feel comfortable with. Try getting some jokes in there, even if a little cheesy to loosen the mood.

i need some opinions.. i have been dating my bf for about 4 months now and lately i get the feeling that maybe hes lost interest in me. we used to text quite a lot during the day and he would call me at night. we had a fight last month since i told him it seemed like he only wanted to hang out with me when he was bored and well he ended up saying he feels like he does all the work and i dont put much effort into our relationship. well im very shy n hes my first bf and its harder for me to do those things and ive told him so he is aware and ive tried to do more of asking him to do things and text him but i always feel like im being a needy. about week or two ago he started only texting me a few things in the morning then hear nothing til next day. maybe i just expect to much from him idk. i dont even bother texting him anymore since he seems to not want to try. so i wait til he texts to text him. i used to think he might of loved me and thats why he kinda backed off me cause he was scared but i dont know. is he even worth my time anymore?

Take my advice with a grain of salt since I haven't been in a relationship but I do know what it's like to be shy. My first thought would to have a honest convo with him if possible. Relationships should be about communication. You two have to figure a way out to have your needs met, and if it's not what you're willing to do break it off. And there can be many reasons why he doesn't text. I used to be the texting queen and now I don't even do it much.

oh man, you know what guys are weird. my ex boyfriend was doing the same thing, and I just let him have his space and he always came back to me. hell, even now that we broke up we still talk and he always comes back.

sometimes guys need space, and they really don't think it's a big deal to not text their gf. but if it really bothers you, I would bring it up to him and see what he wants from you. say you're trying to put in an effort, but now it seems like he isn't.

You should initiate the texting. If he feels like he puts all the work in, then he's pulling back probably because he wants you to put the effort in, but it sounds like you're not.

But you should talk to him about this, and not over text. Ask him exactly what would make him feel better/what's going on and then work with him about your needs.

Don't guess how he feels, and be open about how you're not sure how to navigate a relationship and you might need a learning curve.

I think you need to change as much as you want him to. You admit that you're shy and that you expect him to always initiate conversations. When he says that he feels like he's putting in all the effort, he's talking about how you never take the initiative. You need to start taking risks and showing him that you still want to be with him, if that's what you actually want. He has already told you what he needs from you, and now you need to decide if you want to keep him around.
