Rimmel Kate Moss Super Pro Nail Color Collection for Spring 2013

As a supermodel who claims to paint her own nails, it's fitting that Kate Moss has launched a new Super Pro home colour nail collection. "Nails are a huge influence now, it's part of the look now, it's as much as the hair and make up," says Moss.
Speaking about Rimmel polishes, for whom she is the face, Moss revealed that she'd always used the brand's pots: "the thick brush... it was always just really easy that I could do it myself."

"I'm really good at painting, and other people's. I like doing it. It's one of the things I like to do on holiday - a line up of all the girls and make their nails look nice."

But this time around, for her new Super Pro Collection by Rimmel, the colours have got better. Moss said choosing the shades came instinctively: "something would inspire me whether it's, you know, a band or a film or some kind of character - Debbie Harry, you know in Studio 54."

Moss revealed that her favourite colour in the collection was Soul Sessions (a pale beige-pink). "I do like punk rock" she explained, but I'm quite a neutral girl so I think the Soul Sessions colour I quite like, it's done but not making a statement."

As for Moss's nails tips?

Don't do matchy matchy lips and nails: "on a set it would be a big no no..it's always a clash."

Back in the '90s, my sisters and I had a polish called "Japanese Violet". I don't know the brand, but I'm pretty sure it was a drugstore brand. There is a Sinful Colors Japanese Violet but it's totally different. I am trying to find a similar color for my polish-addict sister. She has a current polish that looked similar in the bottle but isn't close enough on.

It's a somewhat pearlescent icy medium blue with a violet shimmer. Are there any colors out there now like that?
trixielollipop 3rd-Feb-2013 09:42 pm (UTC)
Revlon Not so blueberry?

pimpmytardis 4th-Feb-2013 12:02 am (UTC)
That miiiight be the one she picked up for looking similar in the bottle. It's around the right darkness of blue, but the one we're looking for had much more iridescent/pearlescent purple tones and less glittery. Thanks though!

In the late '90s and early '00s Sally Hansen used to make iridescent polishes that were very intense between two shades- we had a green/purple one. The original Japanese Violet was NOT one of that brand, but it may have been a knock-off or otherwise similar to that.

Really late and crappy quality but here are my nails: http://i45.tinypic.com/10omtt1.jpg

It's Rimmel's Pink Bliss, with a pink glitter top coat (the glitter is very refined so you can only see it in the light/up close) and OPI GoldenEye on the tips. Best part is that these are all my roommates polishes and she lets me borrow whichever ones I please :)
karrixftw 3rd-Feb-2013 09:55 pm (UTC)
ooh that's really pretty! i have goldeneye, and i really like it, but it's a pain to get off!
beaucadeau 3rd-Feb-2013 09:56 pm (UTC)
I find that having two layers of top coat and removing it with tissue is the best way to roll. That and a shit ton of patience.

Rimmel is so shit. Although I guess Rimmel + her is like a match made in basic heaven.

I used an old bottle of OPI's Malaga Wine last week and it dried the shit out of my nails. I was going to do a week without polish but someone posted a picture of Sally Hansen's Pacific Blue and now I want to paint my nails that color. And every time there is a makeup/ nail polish post here, by shopping folder in my bookmarks tab gets bigger. Clearly I have a problem.

In the process of painting my nails right now. I'm using: Color Club - 'Rebel Debutante' and on my accent nail a plain silver topped with Milani's Jewel fx in 'Silver' and Essie's 'Set in stones'.

mmbien 3rd-Feb-2013 10:39 pm (UTC)
i had to put about 10 coats of that milani one to get my nails to look like that lol -_-
cam_a 3rd-Feb-2013 10:47 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that's why I always use a silver polish under it and then just one or two coats of the glitter.
soavantgarde 3rd-Feb-2013 10:41 pm (UTC)
omg I'm in love with that essie glitter

Jesus ice skating Christ that's big!! Oop sorry.
fuckyess 4th-Feb-2013 01:38 am (UTC)
that's adorable! how's it look on your non dominate hand, lol?

i have a nail art pen and all I can manage are dots, but they're not that neat.
goooooblue 4th-Feb-2013 01:50 am (UTC)
Haha my non-dominate hand actually looks pretty good! I paint my nails allllll the time so I've gotten pretty decent at it. I find the nail art pens SO much harder to work with than dotting tools for some reason.
williammiller 4th-Feb-2013 04:16 am (UTC)
That looks great!
