MTV have released another video clip from Josh Horowitz’s interview with Dan at the Sundance film festival. Dan talked to Josh about his experiences filming his upcoming horror film Horn, from being burned alive to playing the Hunchback in Max Landis’ adaptation of Frankenstein, saying that he loves the script.

I think The F Word will be cute. Wallace and Dan are alike in a way that's scary. So people will hopefully just fall in love with him. He's just too adorable.
I can't wait to see Horns. I need a chain smoking, boozed out, rough looking Dan on screen, thank you.
Horns has the potential to be brilliant. Dan'll get to be wounded, angry, grieving and vengeful, and I think he's going to absolutely blow everyone away. He's the perfect Ig, I could picture him all the way through reading the book - so glad that Shia LeBeouf didn't end up playing him.
I need KYD now.
I really despise this "Dan is too short/doesn't look the leading man" bullshit. MJ Fox isn't conventionally good looking, neither is Tom Hanks...but their personality, charisma and talent made them attractive.
Wallace is Dan, yep. When I read the script, I was dying at how much this character was Dan. Just lovable in every way. He's the guy next door that you should fall in love with instead of the stereotypical hot guy.
Ig. Oh my. I saw Dan in it from page one. I think he can do it. I've been waiting for him to do a really explosive role like this. I'm so excited for him this year.
KYD was just the kick off.
Yep, I hate the whole "he doesn't look like a leading man". Well, GOOD, because I've never found the typical leading man all that attractive, and I think Hollywood underestimates the appeal of quirky good looks, a sense of humour, and talent. Interesting that you mentioned MJ Fox and Tom Hanks - I love both of them (so excited for Michael's new TV series).
Wallace has a Chandler-from-Friends'esque vibe to him, which I like, and I'm so happy they've not made Dan use an accent.
I have a feeling TFW will be a May release, before Dan goes into rehearsals for Cripple of Inishmaan. Then we have the play to look forward to, followed by Horns and KYD. The Year of Radcliffe is shaping up to be pretty damn awesome, but I want him to line up at least a couple of film projects for release in 2014, and I wouldn't say no to another series of AYDN.
As far as the leading man, bs. I'm looking at several of the current leading romantic/action leads, and I'm thinking....meh.
Now, I don't see Dan pulling a Stallone and being a soldier badass or something. But he's got the chops to be gritty and then turn around and be that lovable, funny guy next door leading man.
Then, turn around again and pull out this amazing dramatic performance in something like KYD.
I'm so damn proud of him right now.
I think looking at Dustin's career (being a shorty himself) is smart of Dan. He knows what kind of career he wants. Plus, I see Tom Hanks in him, too. He has that sweet, dorky guy that you can't help but just love.
I believe people are just now starting to see how talented Dan is. Unfortunately, stage is limited to a few people and many didn't get to see how fantastic he was in Equus and How To Succeed.
Dan himself knows he's not a natural talent, but damn does this boy hard to better himself and it shows in every single thing he does. He is so professional and has a stellar reputation to work with. He's getting sent really great scripts and people really love working with him.
I agree that I think he's going to be a triple threat. He wants to direct, write and produce. He already has a production company set up for himself.
HP didn't stretch him as an actor unfortunately. But he is hilarious and I think naturally comedic and I can't wait to see more comedy from him. Watching Kill Your Darlings proves that he IS a good dramatic actor and can hold his own with other great actors.
I applaud him for being fearless in the roles he is choosing. He is going to have one helluva career if he continues on this path. He works so hard and damnit he deserves some recognition for the good work he's doing.
And through all of this he remains a humble, intelligent and just lovely man.
I specifically remember one of his first big interviews with Out magazine where they were asking him about his reputation for hanging out with drag queens, and instead of some bullshit canned response about it being no big deal, he was so articulate in describing the inherent problem even with the question since it's not a big deal and by continuing to ask those questions in and of itself continues to enforce the stereotype that it is weird for a young straight man to hang out with drag queens. it was so fucking perfect.
and on top of all of this, he is hilarious, committed to owning the awkwardness that comes with doing a HUGE role and have notoriety from HP, and he is making smart decisions by removing himself from the public eye, going into broadway and doing shows with smaller visibility to avoid name rec burnout, and getting excellent press for improving and being a pleasure to work with. this is how celebrities do it right.
Even though he doesn't wish to be...he is a TERRIFIC role model especially for his and the upcoming generation. That it's perfectly ok to be whatever you are and be proud of who you are. I've never been so proud when he just basically told people to fuck themselves for being judgmental asshats in regards to the LGBTQ. He just doesn't give two fucks if anyone thinks he's gay or his associations. To be a young, straight male to feel absolutely secure in his own sexuality and be at home with any one of any orientation, etc. Young people (esp boys) should take note.
He is compassionate, intelligent, honest and stands up for what he believes in. I'm so proud of his support of the LBGTQ and Trevor Project. He truly cares and isn't doing it for the press.
And he doesn't care he's short and not the sexy, leading man badass. He owns his awkwardness, height and doesn't give a shit to anyone wanting to pigeonhole me.
He gives celebrity a good name.
