When he does stuff like this I always want to know how much is scripted, and how much is him!

Based on his interviews and guest appearances, he is a quick wit he is...I wouldn't be surprised that much of this is him. He fucking hilarious. Which is why I was so ticked as SNL for giving him some of the dumbest and unfunny skits (except Casey Anthony's dog).

Dan's material for SNL is comedy gold compared to the utter shit they saddled poor Jennifer Lawrence with.

I didn't catch her as host. I did see a pic of her in a dog's costume.

Dan did it better. And I like Jennifer.

Just thinking about how much Dan wanted to be on SNL, how full of energy and willing to do anything .....and they gave him that shit. Tina needs to write for SNL again.

It was absolutely excruciating. I know she was ill around the time of SNL, and probably felt like shit, but she looked so uncomfortable. It's a shame, I really like her, and she deserved better.

Dan committed 100% and salvaged even the shittiest sketches. He was so happy to be there, and it showed.

Had Dan phoned it in like some of the regulars that night, it would have been even worse. I agree, the only thing that really saved it was his complete dedication and sheer enthusiasm to be on the show.

Next time, they better do right by him, dammit.

I think he'll host again, and maybe next time they'll realise that they can throw all sorts at him and he'll make it work. His sheer energy and joy absolutely carried that episode.
