MAC Cosmetics' Unveils Betty & Veronica Collection Based on the Archie Icons!

MAC Cosmetics will be launching their Archie Comics collection just in time for Valentine's Day, featuring makeup products inspired by Riverdale's own Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge. Known for their critically acclaimed beauty products and collaborations with pop culture icons (including Hello Kitty, Barbie, and Wonder Woman), MAC Cosmetics' Archie Comics products will feature exclusive new shades and special edition accessories. However, the most unique feature of this collection is that the products are evenly split (like Archie's heart) to suit either the Girl-Next-Door (sweet candy shades of pink and peach) or the Sophisticated Fashionista (deep vixen tones of red and purple).

Gah-they're both pretty, but I could only pull off the Betty ones. The Veronica ones would make me look like a Tim Burton character.

When I was 11 or 12, I came home from school one day to find that my dad had given away my Archie comics, Baby-sitters Club books, Sweet Valley books, and all my other beloved YA books to a used bookstore because "the books were too childish."

Never quite got over that, tbh.

Oh, yes, Nancy Drew! My mom bought me all the hardcover books over the course of my childhood. I was particularly fond of those books and had planned to keep them forever. :'(

i ordered flatter me and Ronnie red on opening day. I am contemplating getting a lipglass and another lipstick. or perhaps even the other pearlmatte, but my student ass is broke. :( reallllly glad I got a couple things from the collection though!!

i actually tried on some of this stuff today! im in love w/ all the betty stuff. i really want the coral-y lipstick and nail polish and lip gloss the most. but i'd take it all tbh.


i also tried on this and im like 90% sure im gonna buy it.



i had a tragic mishap w/ a macy's order (shoes i ordered got stolen before i received them) so I have a $40 credit and it's a $34 lipstick. im gonna treat myself. w/e.

I had added Oh Oh Oh to my cart on the website and Plumful (from the Year of the Snake collection) but Plumful was gone when I checked this morning. I wanted that one mainly because of the packaging but it's a permanent so I will just buy it in the store.

The Archie collection hits stores February 7 so I will just wait until then to buy Oh Oh Oh from my Macy's.

Apparently I'm more of a Betty because I'd totally wear those colors (Considering getting that eyeshadow palette).


IN OTHER NEWS I keep getting invites for the MAC collection release "parties" but I don't understand it. When I got the Wonder Woman invite, I called the store to ask for details, they sort of just tried to give me an appointment to get my makeup done instead...

i swatched the chanel on the left. the betty bright on the right, the small swatch is a chanel lip pencil from the spring line too.


i think i need both.

i am so obsessed with bright pink and coral lipstick. i have 2 color whispers in pm the same shades but the quality is such shit compared to the chanel and mac. esp the chanel. i tried it on my lips. jfc i've never had such an amazing lipstick on. i wound up blotting it and putting a peachy revlon lip butter over it for my date. looked fresh to death.
