François Arnaud and comedian Eddy King will soon turn to Belgium for the film's Moroccan Gigolos.
Coproduction between Quebec and Belgium, this film is directed by Ismail Saidi, who co-wrote the screenplay with François Avard. In Quebec, it is being produced by Boréal Films ('I Killed My Mother') who is leading the project. SODEC and Telefilm Canada provided financial support.
The film tells the story of Samir, Dede and Nicolas, three friends in their thirties who dream of opening a sandwich shop in the heart of Brussels. To finance their business, they prostitute themselves to older women.
The name of their club: the Moroccan Gigolo's. Their trouble: many! "It's a comedy; somewhat uncivil, but it speaks of a real problem that is happening in European suburbs," says director Ismail Saidi about his project on the website Save Cinemas in Morocco.
Well known for his role in The Borgias as Cesare, François Arnaud has played in the comedy 'The Heat of Sophie Lorain' and the drama 'I Killed My Mother by Xavier Dolan'.
Eddy King is a French comedian who lives and made a career in Montreal.
The shooting of the feature started on January 14 and is expected to end on February 21. The scenes will be filmed in Liège and Brussels, according to the website Cinergie.be.
