I find her PR so interesting. It reminds me of the old-school Hollywood studio system, everything is SO highly-controlled and precise.

YES. And to such an extent that her whole life seems rigged - everything she does feels like PR. It's like here's the image we have for Beyonce and anything that runs counter to that image needs to be quelled and silenced. And then we can let the Beyhive do the rest.

Agreed. I think that's why I find it hard to really be a serious fan of hers. Everything just seems so meticulous, like there aren't any spontaneous moments w/ her.

I can see why some people might like that, and be amazed that she scrutinises videos of her own performances and stuff. But I like to think that my pop idols have spontaneous, unrehearsed flair - and I would have still thought that of her, had she not revealed that titbit.
