Again, not what I'm talking about. Did any of them want to prove their "haters" wrong? Did Madonna start doing push-ups on stage to quell the ageist naysayers?

It was really fucking weird and taking it at face value is super awkward. And saying things like "when will your faaaaaves?" - well tbh, I hope never, because then they'd probably have to be committed.

but that isn't really comparable though. no one is doubting that she is the one dancing on stage?

she is known for her voice and imo therefore it's not that surprising that with the way the media has blown that whole ~she lip-synched the national anthem~ out of proportions, she used this chance to prove them wrong.
