It is 30 in Boston, but it is still cold enough that when I went for a run today without a hat my ears ached so much for a good twenty minutes once I was home. I just can't deal with winter.

Ugh seriously. I'm in Chicago too, and I'm doing everything humanly possible to avoid the outdoors.

I've had this happen so frequently in the last few years that I'm completely ambivalent to it. I've gotten to the point where I just enjoy the thrill of finding something awesome for people and feeling accomplished afterwards. it's like a work out

but with money

This happens to me. But I don't get mad anymore. If it's someone that I want to buy for anyway, I do. I love to shop though and am happy for any excuse to spend money. lol. Like I have a friend who when I'm out shopping, I always find things, and feel like she would love them and I want to make her happy. As corny as it is, there are some people that when I make them happy, that makes me happy.

However, I have stopped buying for someone in my life because for two years straight she has done nothing for me while I have done so much for her and I just started feeling like, am I not worth any effort or what?

That's happened to me before and it sucks so much. She's an asshole.

Don't buy her anymore presents until she gets you something

My birthday is on Christmas so this happens to me like, every single year. I buy people Christmas and birthday presents and they get me one, if that. It frustrates me because I love giving presents to people or making them things and it hurts to not have that returned, but I guess in the future you can decide whether or not she's worth the investment.
