Meet the celebrities on the NRA's shitlist, ONTD.

RTR3BTN9

Huh. I should have guessed that the NRA had their own (very big) enemies list, but I never thought they'd keep it on their website:
A couple of things become apparent while reviewing the NRA list. First, they have no concept of data record formatting. Second, at least some of the folks on the NRA list are dead – which rings familiar to the persistent rumors that many of the NRA “Life” Members are dead as well.
The actual list is broken into multiple parts: There are political organizations the NRA hates, specific people (mostly celebrities and journalists) the NRA hates, and companies the NRA hates. Continue reading below the fold for a very, very small sampler from among the hundreds of entries.

Anyone who considers Leonard Nimoy an enemy is transparently evil, though. I mean why would you want to live such a life?

Also lol, American Civil Liberties Union. Ironic.

My grandfather and father are vets. They're really into "protecting guns" because they see it as protecting the constitution. I reminded them the constitution is complete vague as it was intended to last hundreds of years so it's up to modern interoperation as the supreme court sees fit and the original meaning of the 2nd amendment mainly focused on the British taking away/outlawing guns all together.

Then they proceeded to school me how people can kill with a stick, so should we outlaw sticks? Yeah, you can't win with these people.

I find it pointless to try and argue with ignorant, misinformed people. It just raises my blood pressure.
ahzuri 1st-Feb-2013 05:45 am (UTC)
This.

I endeavor from here on out to keep my trap shut when they start talking about shit like this (politics) at work. I nearly got into it with some folks who were spouting off BS they likely heard on Fox "News". All I ended up was angry and having to make sure I'm not making shit up tonight by doing some research. (Ps I was totally right go fig)

sticks weren't invented to kill stuff. nor were cars. or knives. guns have one purpose: to kill shit, and kill it quick.

ANSWER 4 THAT QSTN.
IF I CAN KILL WITH A STICK OR MY BARE HANDS WHY WOULD YOU MAKE SO EASY TO OBTAIN A GUN/WEAPON.

THE NRA WORKS FOR THE GUN MANUFACTURERS.

I was watching MSNBC last night and Lawrence O'Donell had this pro gun lady on his show.

He wanted to know what her priority as woman were. She was defending the right to own a riffle and imagined a situation to defend her argument. So he asked her if she believe in the woman's right to make decisions that concern her individual health (AKA Abortion) and she didn't answer obs. He questioned why she as a woman would choose to lobbying for guns but not her rights.

He told her that her RIGHT WING CONSERVATIVE AGENDA IS SHOWING.

I couldn't believe what i had witnessed tbh. SHE NEEDS SOME NONE NRA BASED PRIORITIES.

ikr? Hating those two lovely men make sit clear they are nuts.
slaygalthessily 1st-Feb-2013 07:39 am (UTC)
i don't get why the NRA is against even stricter laws on gun ownership. From the way I'm understanding it, the government isn't making laws that would completely strip us of our rights. They're supposed to be trying to make it harder for people who shouldn't have guns to get them.

I don't mess with guns and don't particularly like them myself, but there needs to be some kind of system set up that will at least try to keep high powered weapons (which shouldn't be on the street. nobody needs military grade weaponry in their personal possession.) out of the hands of people who will use them to injure or kill others. That, I don't believe violates people's rights.
