JAPANESE POP STAR SHAVES HAIR AND CRIES AS AN APOLOGY FOR HAVING SEX

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
On the latest issue of “Shukan Bunshun” (BUNGEISHUNJU Ltd.) that was published on January 31st (JST), it was reported that AKB48’s Minegishi Minami spent the night at Shirahama Alan’s place on the 17th of this month.

Shirahama is a popular member of GENERATIONS that made a major debut last year as EXILE’s “little brother” group. He has appeared on some dramas like “GTO” and “Rokudenashi BLUES” last year, and he also starred in late-night drama “Sugarless.”

Minegishi and Shirahama co-starred together in a reading drama “Moshimo Kimi ga.” back in 2011.

I’m Minegishi Minami from Umeda team B of AKB48.

I’m very sorry to have caused enormous worry to members, fans, staffs, my families and a lot of other people with the article in the weekly magaizne that is published today.

(Deep Bow)

As the 1st generation member of AKB48, the group that has formed in 2005, it’s my responsibility to always behave as a good role model to juniors. I deeply regret what I did this time. It was a thoughtless deed and I was completely lacking self-awareness as a senior member.

My brain blanked out and I’m still unable to figure out what to do, what I can do. But after I saw the magazine a little ago, I couldn’t help but doing something. And I decided to shave my head without consulting any member or staff at my agency.

Although I don’t think I would be forgiven by doing this, the first thing that I went through my head was that “I don’t want to leave AKB48.”

This is a place where my dear members, who I spent my blossom of youth together, are. And it’s unimaginable to even think about leaving the group where I’m with so many wonderful and sweet fans.

I understand it’s wishful thinking, but if it’s possible, I would like to still be AKB48′s Minegishi Minami.

This is all my fault.

I’m truly sorry.

I will leave my hereafter to the hands of Akimoto-sensei and management.

Though I haven’t been able to tidy my mind up, but I just wanted to tell my current feeling to you.

Thank you so much for listening to me.

(Deep Bow)

that's so harsh. poor girl.
pistol_eyes 31st-Jan-2013 10:43 pm (UTC)
This is why I wish there were paps/Tmz in Asia so that these fangirls and boys will realize that these idols are human beings who drink, smoke, and have sex with people who are not their group members
laceandskin 31st-Jan-2013 10:48 pm (UTC)
Paparazzi photos would make idols so much more interesting.
cruel_idol 31st-Jan-2013 10:51 pm (UTC)
Yes!
cloudynitemare 31st-Jan-2013 10:53 pm (UTC)

squalor 31st-Jan-2013 11:26 pm (UTC)
i remember there was a japanese idol maybe 10 years ago or something that was pictured with a cigarette in hand and she was dropped by her label and had to become a receptionist

it's pretty ott
foreignhorsie 31st-Jan-2013 11:40 pm (UTC)
LBR, they'd probably just crucify the entertainers more. Ugh. Society.
shikinluv 4th-Feb-2013 07:44 am (UTC)
there are. the bigger companies just pay them off to shut them up.
illiade 31st-Jan-2013 10:43 pm (UTC)
She should've just pretended that it wasn't her, wasn't her face covered in the pictures?
wasabi_girl1 31st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
I have a question, is Kpop the same way? If a female Kpop idol was caught in a scandal going to a guy's hotel at night would they be treated the same way? Just curious...
misoras 31st-Jan-2013 10:50 pm (UTC)
there was the iu/eunhyuk thing, where iu 'accidentally' posted a twitpic that looked suspiciously post-sex with eunhyuk topless. that blew over quick but iu's (a singer that had some 'nation's little sister' title) reputation has kinda been destroyed. eunhyuk (member of super junior) gets occasional jokes about it. also the press release from iu's company gets ridiculed a lot. that's it.
foreignhorsie 31st-Jan-2013 11:42 pm (UTC)
well, that's one sided, isn't it.
wasabi_girl1 1st-Feb-2013 02:27 am (UTC)
Right I remember reading about that but never followed up on the backlash. Thanks!
flumes 31st-Jan-2013 11:05 pm (UTC)
not...to this extent. like their reputation would be destroyed as ^ mentioned but they wouldn't go this far. it's more lenient which is surprising bc it's pretty bad lol
jeugd1 31st-Jan-2013 11:49 pm (UTC)
No it's not this bad....you can't date the first couple of yrs of your career but after that you're all good as long as you keep your shit on the downlow

a Korean female singer had a sex tape scandal, she needed a couple yrs off (it was the first big sex tape issue they ever had) but she made her come back not to long a go
moob 1st-Feb-2013 01:36 pm (UTC)
there are kpop groups who aren't even allowed mobile phones now....
maclou 31st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
Thinking about this now AKB is really extra crazy. In the past other idols with issues or who couldn't follow the rules were quietly let go and went away. But with AKB, mostly with the popular girls, it's dragged out and they're "punished" by being demoted or sent to another group when really it's just a ploy retain some of their fanbase and gain new fans out of pity. It's kind of annoying actually.
mana_runigha 31st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
Japan and their culture towards young female pop stars is disturbing. They sexualization them so much, but the girls are forbidden to actually engage in any sort of romantic/sexual relationships to maintain a 'pure' image. I read in a book (I think "A Guide to Japanese School Girls" or something similar) these girl groups like AKB48 and Morning Musume really are not about any of the vocal talents the singers may have, but it's selling this school girl image that Japanese men are fascinated with.
andres01234 31st-Jan-2013 11:07 pm (UTC)
well, but of course! the "music" they make is terrible (yes, I say this with a Britney icon), it's all about their image
go3x 31st-Jan-2013 11:40 pm (UTC)
Yeah, it's fucking disgusting. Perversion under the disguise of innocence. But when we call out on it, they'll go "You just don't understand". Don't understand my ass.
yurasama_love 31st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)
That's horrible and completely unnecessary. Japanese fans need to untwist their panties.
cabernet 31st-Jan-2013 10:44 pm (UTC)

Um....
chilli_cheese 31st-Jan-2013 10:47 pm (UTC)
Poor girl. This obsession with virginity and purity is disgusting and gross. I can't believe people get mad that some girl has sex or has a bf, shattering their pathetic dreams.
foreignhorsie 31st-Jan-2013 11:44 pm (UTC)
I need a break from the universe. These expectations are not only ridiculous, but also completely contrarian and obtuse.

People have sex. end of.
stussytribe 31st-Jan-2013 10:47 pm (UTC)
i feel bad for her obviously but didn't she like .. know? this is what an idol is being about? idk ;\
cruel_idol 31st-Jan-2013 11:08 pm (UTC)
Yep, that idol life...the dark side...if you are a woman.

If you are a dude...well that's different...unless you get into a mess that your talent agency can't pay off the right people to make go away or die off quick in the news.

jeugd1 31st-Jan-2013 11:51 pm (UTC)
plenty of girl in her group got kicked out for dating, so this kind of surprises me

I would have been paranoid about being seen with a man if I was in her group
dracey 1st-Feb-2013 02:52 am (UTC)
This. There were some really rabid fans a page back who were attacking posters for their comments, but in all the crazy, there was one bit of sanity. As far as I understand, they sign a contract, and part of the contract (whether it's spoken or not) is that they can't date/have sex/etc. It's messed up, but I view it as no different than being famous and having paparazzi follow you everywhere.
icallitwormlog 31st-Jan-2013 10:47 pm (UTC)
I'm depressed now.
karishcookie 31st-Jan-2013 10:47 pm (UTC)
what the fuck?
holdheart 31st-Jan-2013 10:47 pm (UTC)
It kinda baffles me that this no dating/sex rule is so strictly enforced since a lot of their fans are actually female, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Ugh...creeper wota scare me.
