Muse discuss plans for 'The 2nd Law' album follow-up

Muse have revealed that they've already started discussing plans for their next studio album.
The band, who released their sixth studio album 'The 2nd Law' last September, have discussed what they've got planned for LP number seven, according to drummer Dominic Howard. He told Billboard: "Me and Matt (Bellamy) have just been tentatively talking about what we're doing to do, how we're we're going to do it, what we need to think about when we are going to do it - not really discussing musical ideas so much as just how we're going to approach it and when we're going to do it."
Despite thrashing out early talks over the record, the sticksman said it's likely to be some time before a new album surfaces. He added: We're going to be on the road for another year or 14 months or whatever it is, so we've still got loads of touring to do. We tend to feel like we need to finish touring one album before we start anything else rather than starting an album on the road. We like to finish a chapter and start afresh, so it'll be a couple of years, probably. But we're definitely thinking about it."
Muse recently revealed that they will be performing their track 'Supremacy' with a full orchestra and choir at this year's Brit Awards.
They are also set to return to the UK this summer for a four-date stadium tour. They kick off the shows at Coventry's Ricoh Arena on May 22, 2013, before playing a pair of dates at London's Emirates Stadium on May 25 and 26, and wrapping up at Manchester's Etihad Stadium on June 1.

Not SUPER great photos because I was being pushed quite a lot - haven't uploaded those from my iPhone yet...

Glad you enjoyed it :) plus, I loved this tour's stage with the reverse pyramid, I mean woah...
trojanchick99 31st-Jan-2013 05:23 pm (UTC)
Saw two of the shows in LA and was blown away. Supremacy and Panic Station are incredible live.
chibinaomidy 31st-Jan-2013 06:46 pm (UTC)
Damn, how did you all manage to get so many tickets. I heard they sold out fast. /Jealous
khloekardashian 31st-Jan-2013 05:02 pm (UTC)
i did not like the 2nd law whatsoever
manubibi 31st-Jan-2013 05:06 pm (UTC)
most of ontders who listen to Muse didn't tbh
jazzypom I liked Madness 31st-Jan-2013 06:23 pm (UTC)

The other songs on the album fall apart on the third listen.
chibik3r0 31st-Jan-2013 05:09 pm (UTC)
Me neither. I didn't enjoy Resistance that much either though.

Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, and Black Holes and Revelations are my favorites. I'm not too familiar with Showbiz though.

and they still put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen.
ellenpage 31st-Jan-2013 05:13 pm (UTC)
I thought it had some sort of fun moments, but it was faaaar from their best work.
trojanchick99 31st-Jan-2013 05:24 pm (UTC)
I liked it better than The Resistance.
iheartfamke 31st-Jan-2013 05:25 pm (UTC)
The first half of the album is perfection. The rest is trash.
misscrystal25 31st-Jan-2013 05:28 pm (UTC)
I wasn't a big fan of it after the first listen but now I really love it.
tusiaczek87 31st-Jan-2013 05:42 pm (UTC)
it was bad, but they still manage to make it work live
egalitarianmuse 31st-Jan-2013 06:19 pm (UTC)
I gave it a go and I didn't either. I didn't much like Resistance, though, but I'd hoped this would be better. Some of Resistance was great, just not most for me.
eyduh 31st-Jan-2013 06:19 pm (UTC)
i actually loved it, it was so ~diverse lol
chantemarissa 31st-Jan-2013 09:08 pm (UTC)
I wasn't feeling it at all.
illiade 31st-Jan-2013 05:11 pm (UTC)
Much like the Strokes they've been disappointing the hell out of me lately, so I'm kinda hoping whenever they get around to the new album it'll be amazing again.
kotori99 31st-Jan-2013 05:13 pm (UTC)
I got a free ticket to see them in April, so I'm slowly getting into their music before the show... I've only heard a greatest hits and a few songs from The 2nd Law, but I really like them so far.

Also the videos I've seen from the tour with the pyramid looked pretty awesome!
manubibi 31st-Jan-2013 05:20 pm (UTC)
That's the tour they're doing/they've been doing last year! And it really was awesome :D by the way, one suggestion... stay away from the fandom since it really is bonkers lol
kotori99 31st-Jan-2013 05:41 pm (UTC)
The more I hear about their lives, the more glad I am to have received this ticket! :D

And haha, I love bonkers fandoms tbh... I never get involved, but I enjoy watching them from afar.

Some Musers really scare me. But I have no room to talk coming from the U2 fandom.
paranoiattaque 31st-Jan-2013 06:03 pm (UTC)
omg the fandom is hilar. but i generally watch from afar.
tusiaczek87 31st-Jan-2013 05:43 pm (UTC)
they are FLAWLESS live, you are lucky to have free tickets!
arbiterin 31st-Jan-2013 05:29 pm (UTC)
Not a fan of 2nd Law but I still want to see them live as much as possible.
tusiaczek87 31st-Jan-2013 05:45 pm (UTC)
that album was kinda a mess, but they still were AMAZING live, their show was the best thing that happened to me last year
eyduh 31st-Jan-2013 06:18 pm (UTC)
i liked it way better than the bland cracker that was The Resistance tbh

and i'm saying this as their hardcore fan

tusiaczek87 31st-Jan-2013 06:19 pm (UTC)
it is hard for me to say which was worst lol
queenweasley 31st-Jan-2013 05:47 pm (UTC)
I was never into Muse, but I loved Madness after hearing it on the radio and now I see what I've been missing.

Question... where do you guys get your music from these days? I miss Megaupload. -sigh-
egalitarianmuse 31st-Jan-2013 06:19 pm (UTC)
I'm hitting you with a message. Check your inbox.
claudsx 31st-Jan-2013 05:55 pm (UTC)
Wow, that's good to hear. I'm still fangirling from their show last Saturday. Gah!

Also what are these rumors I'm hearing about Dom and Katy Perry.. wtf
paranoiattaque 31st-Jan-2013 05:56 pm (UTC)
saw them their first night in LA, was blown away as usual. i was shocked at how awesome panic station and survival were live. supremacy too! and follow me. fuck, it was all awesome.
trojanchick99 31st-Jan-2013 06:01 pm (UTC)
I'm still bitter I missed that show because I was sick. I saw the 2nd and 3rd shows, but I missed BLISS! and Animals.

And yes, the new stuff is awesome live.
paranoiattaque 31st-Jan-2013 06:02 pm (UTC)
i was SHOCKED at how great animals was live. and madness. i really love T2L, but i was just unsure of how the songs would translate live.

the only thing i'm semi-sad about is no new born. wahhhhh

eyduh 31st-Jan-2013 06:15 pm (UTC)
can't fucking wait for the brit awards. supremacy is going to be great
chibinaomidy 31st-Jan-2013 06:41 pm (UTC)
LOVE supremacy. Hearing it live is going to be amazing.
loveumbrella 31st-Jan-2013 06:18 pm (UTC)
I only listen to a couple of songs from T2L but it was still just as awesome live as all the previous albums, so I'm going to see them twice this tour idgaf
chibinaomidy 31st-Jan-2013 06:40 pm (UTC)
Supremacy is one of the few tracks off their new album that sounded remotely similar to old Muse. Madness on the other hand was unbearably boring.
foureyedgirl 31st-Jan-2013 08:17 pm (UTC)
can't fucking wait for march to see them again! even though i don't really like t2l except for PS I will always see them.
hypermuseic9 31st-Jan-2013 08:57 pm (UTC)
Going to their concert in March...on my own. But idgaf as long as I got a ticket lol.
