Washington Heights follows a group of nine long-time friends who have grown up in the neighborhood and are now at existential crossroads, it would seem. They are mostly of Dominican descent.
In the clip, you’ll see an adorable moment between Frankie and Ludwin, where she surprises him with a new skateboard after his breaks!
Frankie comforts Ludwin as he worries about his brother's upcoming sentencing!
OK!
Who Else Watches This Show? Sneak Peeks of Tonight's Washington Heights!!!

The only kind of filming that has occurred around here was for some show/movie two years ago, and those fuckers left us without electricity for a day after plugging their equipment into our power-supply and burning it out.
Yay for more Dominicans on my tv though!
Also, Washington Heights is a reality show, so there wouldn't have been a film crew. Just a dude with a handheld camera and maybe a boom mic, but most reality casts wear wireless mics.

And wow, they premiered it in United Palace just a week ago. Mad I missed it, especially since I live like literally a block away.
Ah, and I figured there would be no crew. Still weird since I've asked around and no has seen those people around. Not that I know everyone or whatever, but still.
I actually went to that premiere! Raúl wasn't there, so you didn't miss much, lol. The movie is TERRIBLE. Like, my friend and I felt like there were several key scenes that had been accidentally left on the cutting room floor. And the ending is just so...ugh. It basically made the movie pointless because the protagonists accomplished nothing. They went through two hours of trying to figure out their options and ways to get out of their sucky situation, and in the end they just followed through on common sense. I'm sorry, if you're going to make a movie about getting in trouble with organized crime and then have a face to face confrontation with the kingpin, you better damn give me some sort of resolution that would not have come about without first going through the whole story arc. The rising action had absolutely no effect on the outcome. They could have done this as a short without the hour of "action" in the middle and the ending would have been the same. So stupid. Raúl is the best part of the movie, which isn't saying much because this role is so beneath his tremendous acting talent. However, he does speak Spanish for a considerable portion of his screen time, and Raúl speaking Spanish is HOT.
Also, the actress playing the main character's girlfriend is AWFUL. The main character is a chef, and there's a scene in the beginning where she goes to his apartment and binges on the leftovers in his refrigerator, and she's doing the Giada DeLaurentis food orgasm and she's just so, so bad. I actually IMDb-ed her when I got home and was legit shocked to find out that she actually has a kind of successful career now. She's one of the worst actresses I've ever seen. And her role in this is so unnecessary.
and they all try too hard

I should say that the hate has lessened here after the earthquake in Haiti.

Other then the fact that yeah some Dominicans are a little racist... I'm of mixed Dominican decent but I was born there and am pretty proud of my carribean/euro herritate.
