1st Sailor Moon Short Stories Listed in September in U.S. + Crossover Art

Amazon.com lists Kodansha Comics' English release of the first Sailor Moon Short Stories collection for release on September 10. Kodansha Comics stated that it plans to release the collection after finishing the main series this year. The short story collection spans two volumes.

According to the Amazon listing, the first collection covers short stories featuring Chibi-Usa:

After the daughter of a foreign diplomat transfers to her school, Chibi-Usa's male classmates suspiciously stop attending classes. Upon investigation, Chibi-Usa discovers the new transfer student is a vampire! Mamoru's birthday gift to Chibi-Usa turns out to be the brainwashing device of a depressed folk tale heroine come-to-life, seeking sympathy from fellow women and girls! Chibi-Usa's Pink Sugar Heart Attack becomes literal when defeating a local sprite that has possessed the dentist she and Usagi visit to get their cavities treated. Then, other local sprites wreak havoc in the lives of Mako, Ami, and Rei as they and Mina and Usagi study for high school entrance exams. Finally, Chibi-Usa and her newfound BFF's help out the quirky proprietor of a mysterious pawnshop that is under attack by both human and otherworldly entities!

Stephanie Gonzaga Mixes Adventure Time With Sailor Moon, Utena And Lady Gaga [Art]

'm a total sucker for Adventure Time fanart in all its myriad forms. There's something infectious about Pendelton Ward's characters that seems to bring out the most joyful elements of professional and amateur artists alike. BOOM! Studios graphic designer Stephanie Gonzaga gets to work with Adventure Time in a professional capacity, drawing the covers for the upcoming Adventure Time original graphic novel (written by Girls with Slingshots creator Danielle Corsetto) and the second print edition of Fionna and Cake. But that doesn't mean that Gonzaga doesn't have plenty of fun with the characters on her own time.

Gonzaga has been posting some truly wonderful Adventure Time fanart to her Tumblr, including mashing the AT style with Sailor Moon and Revolutionary Girl Utena. The art is great fun (especially if you 'ship Princess Bubblegum and Marceline), and Gonzaga is especially attentive to what the characters wear and how it fits, adding an extra bit of visual interest to her pieces. That attention to fashion carries through to her original artwork. Most of the original artwork on her Tumblr is in sketch form, but it's fascinating to see the quiet, grayscale artwork contrast with the bright colors and cartoony shapes of Adventure Time.
