Little Mix Ready to Conquer America

The 'Wings' hitmakers rose to fame in 2011 when they became the first group to win The X Factor, and after a string of successful singles and a smash hit debut album, Little Mix are already gearing up to conquer the US.

Little Mix are hoping to crack the states this year like their pals One Direction

Speaking out their legions of fans, member Jesy Nelson says they don't have many male fans and are similar to teen sensation Justin Bieber in that sense.

“It's mostly teenage girls at our shows so I do feel like I'm Justin Bieber. It's really strange,” Jesy told the Daily Star.

“We were hoping it might happen, but realistically girl bands never really have that kind of following - you know, people banging on car windows.”

Perrie Edwards chimed in: “There are girls everywhere and the best thing is they know all the words, all the raps. We get so emotional hearing them on stage we just cry.”

Lead singer Perrie says the girls will be pulling out all the stops to break into the US market. “We will be going there and working our bums off,” she admitted.

“We want to be so successful so we'll be doing everything we can to break there. We want to be huge.”

Jade Thirwall added: “'Wings' was written with the US in mind. We have an album that will travel well. We have big ambitions.”

The four-piece are currently in the midst of their first UK headline tour, which has so far received rave reviews.

I don't care if they flop here...I just need to see them live at least once

They also have a huge announcement for tomorrow. It's probably gonna be something stupid, but I'm excited nonetheless

The announcement is probably that they're opening for 1D on their tour. Which is another reason for Perrie to stay with Zayn...
rpsuc 30th-Jan-2013 08:10 pm (UTC)

logan_lerman 30th-Jan-2013 08:45 pm (UTC)

i've only ever heard that horrible DNA song the TV was playing while I was on the bus. I'm still bitter for having to endure that aural pollution.

Please, God. Save us.
fuk_q 30th-Jan-2013 08:20 pm (UTC)
They won't conquer the states lol. They're still trying to conquer their homeland anyway.
soulsincere 30th-Jan-2013 08:22 pm (UTC)
I pray they don't conquer anything but early retirement and fading fast into the abyss.

I'm generally tired of these UK acts like The Saturdays, Cher Lloyd, Connor Maynard, Rita Ora, etc. trying to make it in America just because 1D and Adele have done well here and because Ellie Goulding had some rather random singles success. In all those cases it was unexpected, they didn't seek it out and they were already doing amazingly well in their home countries so if it didn't work out, not a huge loss. But these acts who haven't even really established a strong successful ground in their own home markets are coming over here in droves doing promo and performing and it's generally not working. Cher Lloyd sort of got a minor hit out of it, but that's about it.

Little Mix's debut album hasn't even sold enough for platinum status in their home country yet, despite 2 #1 singles and a #3 single leading the album and despite being the winners of X Factor. But they want to try it over here? At least wait awhile.

simprov 30th-Jan-2013 09:54 pm (UTC)
watch ur mouth cher is gonna be on big time rush!!!11
cher is going for like a tweener market and im nfht. i think cher could do well over here but her team isn't doing it right. if she had released with ur love ft. mike posner as her first single i think she'd be in a better position rn.
i just have a lot of feelings about cher's career lol

Why does it bother you so much? US acts are always trying to make it in every market- even if they're not breaking records in the US. I don't see how this is any different
cageyb 30th-Jan-2013 10:37 pm (UTC)
Mostly because these acts barely have any real success in their own markets. Establish a strong base in your own country before trying to break the biggest music market.
wristtattoos 30th-Jan-2013 11:00 pm (UTC)
i really don't get why a variety of music is a bad thing. american pop radio sucks, but i do like variety.

my body isn't ready
rollogreb 30th-Jan-2013 08:36 pm (UTC)

chantemarissa 30th-Jan-2013 08:39 pm (UTC)

crazyfirecrotch 30th-Jan-2013 08:38 pm (UTC)
how the fuck are the saturdays doing? i watch their show it's cute but.... i don't think they'll break through tho. all the groups are bland. maybe those bands on x factor will make it cuz everyone on here loves them and they already ahve exposure.
kanyesus 30th-Jan-2013 08:41 pm (UTC)
fifth harmony? yes i hope so too.
silentxstrom 30th-Jan-2013 09:18 pm (UTC)
the saturdays should have come to the US to break in about 3 or 4 years ago around their 2nd album. they chose a really bad 1st US single as their debut. it's so basic and boring. their show is cute, but I seriously doubt anyone who's just hearing about them for the first time actually watches it.
chantemarissa 30th-Jan-2013 08:40 pm (UTC)
i pray someone gets them a REAL stylist. nhf the street walking hipster thing.
lfitzb 30th-Jan-2013 08:42 pm (UTC)
Jeez people are harsh in here.

Get the States women! They sound great. I'm ready.
okay_awesome 30th-Jan-2013 08:54 pm (UTC)
lol...You get used to it since all the harsh comments are always repetitive.
kanyesus 30th-Jan-2013 08:43 pm (UTC)
Lead singer Perrie

LOL wonder why that is...
simprov 30th-Jan-2013 09:56 pm (UTC)
she's the belter of the group and gary barlow was an ass and referred to her as the lead singer back on xf
nothing to do with zayn
kanyesus 30th-Jan-2013 10:19 pm (UTC)
i watched the x factor too and i remember that, but thanks.

she is also the most well-known of the group, especially in other markets, wouldn't you agree? even lm fans on tumblr and twitter admit that she gets the most attn.
