So sad the Pemberley Arc is almost over on the Lizzie Bennet Diaries but I'm curious about how they're gonna do the Darcy saves everyone from ruin thing. Conflicted!

I'm thinking Wickham is going to try to pressure Lydia into a quickie Vegas wedding. He's pretty clearly abusive, so it would make sense for Darcy to just pay him off like he did for Gigi.
allons_y42 30th-Jan-2013 07:17 pm (UTC)
Yeah I think it's going be a bigger deal though. In the book Wickham is way worse to Lydia than Georgiana, mostly because he gets caught in the middle of trying to elope the first time. There's some fan prognosticating that Lydia's Xanax popping was foreshadowing something more sinister, but I dunno if the show is gonna go that dark. I feel like it's going to be something a little more scandalous than a just a Vegas elopement though.

it doesn't help that my class got cancelled today lol
chuk_is_dazzled 30th-Jan-2013 06:43 pm (UTC)
same i have like barely studied for anything and this is my 4th week. only thing i have done is assignments(that i have for only 2 classes) and i do those the night before or the day theyre due. lol im horrible with school ive been lazy like this for the past 3 semesters
kstew 30th-Jan-2013 06:50 pm (UTC)
yeah this is EXACTLY me rn. the only thing i've done are my assignments so i don't fail, but i haven't done any of the reading. at this point i'll probably end up doing all of it the night before a test lol

Is anyone here a pharmacy tech? I am thinking of going back to school for it and was wondering how much and what kind of math is involved, cause well i suck at math. My pharmacist said "if you can stand and type on a computer you can do this job", so is that true? I mean Im sure it's more than that.
dancedallnight 30th-Jan-2013 07:22 pm (UTC)
depends on what kind of pharmacy. is it a retail setting? if so, then the math won't be too complicated. you might have to calculate like 30 days supplies, or do basic compounding complications (e.g. if you have to make a suspension from tablets capsules, and it says 120ml supply, concentration of 15mg/ml, and you have 75mg tablets, then you might have to set up ratios to figure out how many tablets you'll need). Hospital pharmacy might require more intense calculations, since you'd be making IVs/drips and what not.

i just finished pharmacy school, and didn't work in pharmacy until i started interning during school, so i'm a bit biased since I had courses dedicated to calculations. But honestly I think you'll be fine. The only things that will really hang you up are days supplies for non-tablet/capsule dosage forms. for example, if the doctor writes for 15 units of insulin in the morning and 30 at night, and you have a 10ml vial that is 100 units/ml, you might have to write it out to see how many vials you are supposed to dispense. And pending on the pharmacy you're working at, the system might be good enough to calculate it for you.

the older pharmacists I work with seem to really value technicians/interns who are fast/efficient with computers. they won't mind going over the system with you and teaching you what you need to know, as long as you're a quick learner. I'm a fast typer, and that seemed to be highly praised by a lot of the pharmacists I worked for even though I didn't think much of it since i'm always on the computer anyway.

sorry for the essay. let me know if you have anymore questions!
loganx2 30th-Jan-2013 07:51 pm (UTC)
Thank you so much this was VERY helpful and I feel a bit better now. I start the classes in March but I have already applied for a could of tech jobs because I was told that I really didnt need any experience, of I havent got those jobs so that statement may be a lie. If you dont mind I would like to keep this message and maybe ask you more questions down the line. thank you again.

When I put my shopping bag over my shoulder at the grocery store, people always stare. I guess they think it's a purse? It's just easier to carry that way.
distant_lines 30th-Jan-2013 06:35 pm (UTC)
I've finally picked up some extra shifts at work! They're crappy, but I need the money desperately.
mydogfred 30th-Jan-2013 06:36 pm (UTC)

distant_lines 30th-Jan-2013 06:39 pm (UTC)

i came home today and my dog was vomitting constantly, she's had bloody diarrhea for a day or two but this is kinda normal for her and usually clears up but it's gotten beyond that point. i dropped her off at the vet an hour ago and they are running tests but i am so scared of something happening to my dog i am not emotionally ready I HAVE ONLY HAD HER 2 AND A HALF YEARS
mydogfred 30th-Jan-2013 06:37 pm (UTC)
my dog was a really sick puppy (the first year or two) and he has been super healthy ever since. thoughts to your puppy.
isthisdesire 30th-Jan-2013 06:43 pm (UTC)
Aww poor bb. She'll be fine! Let the vets do their expensive thangs to fix her.
no_urges 30th-Jan-2013 07:07 pm (UTC)
i'm so sorry. i hope they figure it out and get her better soon!
cityxpretty 30th-Jan-2013 07:17 pm (UTC)
Even if something is happening, I'm sure they can treat it. My dog had issues like that most of her life. We never knew what is was, but she had a happy life.
williammiller 1st-Feb-2013 04:57 am (UTC)
Aww, poor thing :(
mydogfred 30th-Jan-2013 06:35 pm (UTC)

The weather is ridiculous in Pittsburgh this week. We got 4 inches of snow last weekend. Today, there is a high of 70 and a low of 28... and the rest of this week all the highs are under 30 with snow.

Does anyone else's office make it damn near impossible to take time off for illness? Every time I take a sick day, I have to go to a hearing with senior management and fill out a document about my illness or I get a reduction in salary/bonus.

Because of this, I have now had two asthma attacks and still had to go to work >.< I'm so angry rn.
ugly_jacket Re: ONTD Work Places:30th-Jan-2013 06:37 pm (UTC)
that is total bullshit, our work place doesn't require anything until you hit 3 days off and then they want a doctor's note generally
hearxmexrawr Re: ONTD Work Places:30th-Jan-2013 06:59 pm (UTC)
my office doesn't have sick days. you have to ask someone to cover your shift 1 month in advance.
teenageriot16 Re: ONTD Work Places:30th-Jan-2013 07:49 pm (UTC)
Is that even legal!? How does that work?
kahluaandcream Re: ONTD Work Places:30th-Jan-2013 07:02 pm (UTC)
Damn, all I do is text my boss and she's cool with it.

I have a lot of stomach problems so they are pretty used to me taking time off/working from home on occasion when I have an episode.

I do remember at my old job getting chewed out by my boss for taking time off, even though I had an ULCER. Which probably wouldn't have gotten so bad if I hadn't come in every day to write a catalog that had a strict deadline. After the catalog was done I finally went to a doctor.
williammiller 1st-Feb-2013 04:57 am (UTC)
Wow, I never had that much trouble!
sylarsexypants GREATEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE30th-Jan-2013 06:36 pm (UTC)
I MET ANDREW MCMAHON LAST NIGHT AND IT WAS GLORIOUS

I told him that 'Caves' helped to get me through a deep depression and he hugged me and said 'Me too'. My friend Elyse spent like 5 minutes talking to him about how 'Swim' helped her cope through her brother's heroin addiction and he was so sweet and asked how her borther was doing now and she asked him to write swim on her arm so she could get it tattooed and he was all 'NOPE... IT'LL SMUDGE IF I DO THAT..... WHO HAS A BLANK PIECE OF PAPER? I NEED A RECIEPT OR SOMETHING' and then acrefulyl wrote it for her.

He is literally the best. THE BEST
