Anne Hathaway 'Hates' Katie Holmes



After career-changing performances in 'The Dark Knight Rises' and now 'Les Miserables', Anne Hathaway is untouchable. However, if you believe the latest reports there's still one rival who can rile her... Katie Holmes! Who'd have thought?

We've been reading up on Anne Hathaway since she grabbed our attention with her stunning 'Les Miserables' performance, and it turns out she might not be as innocent as she seems.

The 'Princess Diaries' starlet and former Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes are said to be fierce rivals, as they're always vying for the same roles. We're baffled!

Hathaway apparently can’t stand Holmes, accusing her of using her marriage to Hollywood star Tom Cruise as a tool to further her career.

“Anne and Katie are longtime rivals,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Anne puts forth a very genial, friendly image, but she has a wicked competitive streak. She doesn’t like Katie because they used to go up for similar roles.

“Anne always felt like Katie used her Hollywood connections through Tom to advance her career. And she constantly makes fun of Katie behind her back, mocking her former marriage and even her appearance.

“Simply put, there is no love lost between Anne and Katie. It all comes down to the fact that Anne doesn’t take Katie seriously as an actress. And Katie’s gotten Anne’s message loud and clear.”

Wow. We don't know what to say... we think Anne's in a league of her own... and find it hard to believe she sees Katie as a threat! Not to mention both ladies seem like two of the nicest stars in Hollywood. We think we'll be filing this story under "unconfirmed rumour"...

nothing much to say, ive said it in Amy posts...my friend worked for her agent, and he's really good friends with her (Amy). his wife went to her baby shower, he went to Berkley with her when she was filming The Master to help her pick a house to rent while she was there. I've gotten screeners of every Amy movie ever lol.

anywho, Amy hates Anne. Anne hates Amy. they are ALWAYS competing for the same roles, and they severely dislike each other. Amy just thinks Anne is a big ol' try hard and is ill genuine. Anne is apparently really patronizing to Amy. it goes back and forth. Amy seems really genuinely nice though, and Anne has always come off as try hard to me so when my friend first told me I was like "well, I am clearly Team Amy on this one" lol.

The tension was obvious when they did the Oscar roundtable.

You can tell Anne was annoyingly condescending towards Amy, like when Amy mentioned about admiring Naomi Watts' interview that she cut out with Anne rebutting she memorized the one with Rachel Weisz without needing a keepsake.

That and butting in the part about how mad Amy gets around paps taking photos of her child.

I remember reading in an article here that another actress had originally gotten Amy's role in Doubt, but at the last minute Amy asked the director for an audition, and she ended up getting it, thus leaving the other actress out of a job. I always wondered if it was Anne.

This. I saw her interview with the rest of the Brokeback cast on Oprah and I was uncomfortable. I couldn't tell if she was just an awkward person who was overcompensating for that or if she was one of those people who knows she's a jackass but also knows it isn't popular to be jackass in front of everyone so she overcompensates in that regard.

she's just a little over the top, which is nothing to hate on her for- she IS an actress. i think she always seems really sweet and a bit awkward.
