Django Slave Toys Also Banned From Ebay

Don't count on finding one of those discontinued "Django Unchained" slave toys on eBay any time soon, the action figures have now been banned from the auction website.

The Weinstein Company (which produced the film) discontinued the promotional figurines in response to a massive backlash from several African-American advocacy groups.

After the toy company halted production, the toys began to pop up on eBay as "rare" collectibles ... and bids skyrocketed.

But last night, all the listings for the "Django" toys were yanked from the website -- and eBay explained itself to sellers with an email, saying, "Since the manufacturer of this product has discontinued the item’s sale due to its potentially offensive nature, we are not allowing it to be sold on eBay.”

eBay also cautioned the sellers not to re-list the items.

A rep for the auction website confirmed the story, telling us, "These [toys] were removed as they were in violation of our Offensive Materials policy."

Oh I'm going to make sure you know that you are a moron. From your 2 comments alone I came up with that conclusion. It's a sure thing.

because I don't think the movie was offensive and people should be able to collect memorabilia if they wish to? I wouldn't dare make such a blatantly rude statement to someone I didn't know. I'm only saying I don't understand what all the hoopla is about and I didn't find it to be offensive. Opinions are opinions.

Who said the movie was offensive? Do you know how a film works and the contexts of it? Like are you serious? Just because YOU don't find these DOLLS offensive doesn't mean that we don't or can't. That's why people are getting annoyed at people who keep making it about them. We are talking about the DOLLS not the FILM.

Facts are facts.

darling, they're dolls based on a movie. dolls are dolls. nobody complains about the Freud action figure, and most people think the Buddy Christ figure is hilarious. these are no more offensive. I never said you can't find them offensive, but your attempt to defend yourself with your weird "like omg" comments probably isn't the best way to get a point across. :/

darling. I'm tired. This is old news. I don't really care what you have to say on THIS matter. move on...if you don't get why blacks would be offended..then like Aaliyah said "I swear I don't know what to tell ya"
