GoT's Aidan Gillen does an interview with the Herald
LOVE/HATE star Aidan Gillen says he tried to pen his autobiography but burnt it after just 100 pages.
Aidan, who played John Boy in the gangland drama, said he had always wanted to write a book.
But since his first draft went up in flames, Aidan has had no desire to put pen to paper.
"I tried to write a book once but after about 100 pages I burnt it. It was autobiographical but yeah, I decided to burn it and I felt really good afterwards," the 44-year-old said,
"And after that I didn't feel the need to write a book. I recommend it to people. It's very therapeutic."
The Dublin native is enjoying a relaxing six- month break before filming starts on the fourth series of Game Of Thrones.
"I'm chilling out till June," he said. "And then I'm going back to do Game Of Thrones."
Aidan plays the part of Lord Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish in the hit HBO series and Gillen says he's looking forward to filming. "It should be a good one -- I have a ship in this series which is cool."
But before he sets foot on deck, Aidan will be returning as host on RTE's musical series, Other Voices.
The programme is based around Dingle's famous festival Other Voices, which has attracted artists such as Amy Winehouse and Ellie Goulding.
"It's a nice job and means I can get into the gigs without blagging my way in," Aidan joked. "I really enjoy doing it but I'm not setting out to be a TV presenter. I was living in Dingle at the time and it was coincidental. I first came on as a co-host but then it sort of developed from that."
This time the show will travel to Derry and London.
"It's branching out this year," Aidan explained. "We move away from Dingle so that will be interesting."
Aidan was speaking at the launch of Peter Murphy's latest novel Shall We Gather At The River.
