We don't usually bother with random photos tweeted from the set of a pilot. But when that pilot is for Joss Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D.," it's a whole different story. There is nothing from the "Avengers"-based series that isn't newsworthy.
The photos come into the world courtesy of the Twitter account belonging to Maurissa Tancharoen, the co-writer of the "S.H.I.E.L.D." pilot. Tancharoen began updating her followers from the show's set on Tuesday (Jan. 22), providing a fair number of obscure teases.
How obscure, you ask? Well, here's the first photo, a look at Tancharoen's chair from the set:
The picture was tweeted with the following caption: "So it begins. The 'Come up with what this stands for' contest."
Whatever fun acronym origins fans might find for this, it's fun to know that absolutely everything on the "S.H.I.E.L.D." set gets periods between the letters.
The second photo tweeted by Tancharoen indicates that things might be a little chilly on the set. That's what the caption, "These are really important," would indicate anyway:
For the co-writer's third set photo, we actually get to see a person. And that person is none other than the show's director/co-writer/producer, Joss Whedon:
The man is either standing in front of a dramatic sunset or a dramatically lit wall. We're going to guess it's the latter.
Should "S.H.I.E.L.D." get picked up, it will air on ABC in the 2013-2014 season.
