Neil Patrick Harris Curries Controversy With Bollywood Clip

Neil Patrick Harris has been kind of out-there with Neil’s Puppet Radio, his Web series for Nerdist, but this might take the cake: In this week’s episode he declares his literal love for a Holy Cow in a full-dlown Bollywood number. We can just see the trolls at NOM have a field day with this.

Oh, Neil, no. Can't defend that.

And people still aren't over the Amy Winehouse thing? Really?

ONTD was making fun of Amy for months before her death, tbh. And then they freaked out after he did that because she was suddenly off limits.

Now this, I can't defend at all. That's a horrible move, Neil. Why.
gorlplz Re: ch...23rd-Jan-2013 07:38 pm (UTC)
so because they did, i should get over it?

have several seats

Oh, I just thought ONTD was being a little hypocritical.

You don't have to get over it if you don't want to. I understand why people are upset he did it, and it was horrible, but that's why I had a problem with ONTD's problem with it.

saying "well we saw that coming" after her death is one thing, but getting a cook to make meat in the shape of her rotted corpse - and then serving it at a party days after she died - isn't really comparable

i went pretty much in every Amy post a year before she died, and there was no hate. people were scared and were wishing her the best. and were always glad, if she seemed to be/looks better and healthier

she always gave the most perfect judging looks

I've never seen this gif before, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

ikr? People harp on that because it's the only shit they could dig up on NPH. ONTD gets so hilariously sensitive over dead people while giving living people so much shit.
champagnexdream 23rd-Jan-2013 07:44 pm (UTC)
MFTE it is not the end of the world. Yes it was in poor taste, but he didn't kill her. SMH. I still like him, IDGAF, but I'm also not offended easily.

it can take something like this happening to make someone realize they need to not be an asshole about stuff like this because people actually do die of addiction wowoww.

And I'd rather not even refer to ontd as a collective whole because there's a ton of members and some people are on here more than others.
klutzy_girl 23rd-Jan-2013 07:54 pm (UTC)
Yup, you're right. I agree with you there, and I shouldn't have referred to ONTD as a collective whole when everyone has different opinions.

My mistake there. Sorry!

I've been a huge NPH stan since Dr. Horrible and this Bollywood video made my jaw drop with how racist/insensitive it is (to me, anyway.) I dunno...I'm a white American woman, I'm atheist, I have no connection to the Indian culture and it bothered me immediately. I can't speak for anyone else, just me. But....

WTF, Neil?

W.T.F.??????

I don't know much about Indian culture but cows are very highly regarded, no? I'm just surmising this would be considered really, really offensive.
