Better Late than Never Sony Releasing PlayStation 4 After New Xbox, Will Allegedly Give Them an Edge


There was once a time when Sony never would have dreamed of letting the competition get a head start reaching the market before any of their PlayStation consoles. But going into 2013, the company has achieved some level of mature wisdom since releasing the PlayStation 3, with Sony’s CEO, Kaz Hirai, hinting that the upcoming PlayStation 4 will be released after Microsoft’s successor to the Xbox 360. Certainly a bold statement on Hirai’s part, especially when buzz around Sony’s corporate office seems to be saying otherwise.

i'll probably get this. i have all 3 consoles i don't necessarily thing one is better than the other. some just are better at doing different things.

I have all three this gen and, honestly, they very rarely get played. I play my PC and DS the most. The games this gen just have not been that great, for my tastes at least.

It didn't really work for them last time. The PS3 did well, but the 360 did better in the US. I hear that the consoles are going to be much cheaper this gen though. It might work out for them. I want a Vita, but with Pokemon XY, Project X Zone, Fire Emblem, and many other games coming out for the 3DS it seems like a no brainer to get the 3DS. I just wish there were better colors for the XLs... the blue and red look so cheap.

The DS is another one. I'm still using the very first DS with a flashcart and never ever wanted to get 3DS but dammit it does have some games I want.

They better be. The age of the $499 console is OVER, especially with those sub $100 micro-console's coming out.

i bought a 3ds and seriously regret not buying an XL tbh. colors are a small sacrifice for better handling, screens, and design.

I am really getting it for Pokemon so I can wait till closer to October and hope that something comes out or at least a special edition one like the swanky Zelda one.

I hate the XL colors too, so I got a skin from decal girl for like $10. The XL is amazing though omg, I would never choose to get the smaller screen again.

I just got a pink and white 3DS XL on sale at Target last week . . . it's super cute!

The other XL colors are abysmal, though. =/

My ps2 finally died a few weeks back but I'm in no position to upgrade. At least this means I know I can wait a little longer for 4 to come in and settle down, but the need to upgrade every couple of years - as time passes, I'm over it :/

I'll get it eventually once better games start to get released, but I'd get it right away if it has backwards capability for the other Playstation consoles. IDK why they wouldn't have that now, surely they can have advanced to the point where they can play all these games on one system. Right now I have my PS2 and my PS3 on top of each other since the PS3 doesn't play PS2 games, it's such a hassle to switch connections to get them hooked up to my TV. I don't have the space (or the patience) for another system I have to manually hook in and unhook every time I want to play a game.

I would think by now a lot of people, particularly the ones who will buy consoles right away, are brand loyal y/n? I mean, I love my PS3 and would never consider switching over to xbox, but I'm not a huge gamer so idk.

Whatever, all I care about is backwards capability. That's the one major flaw with the PS3 for me.
