'Don't Trust the B- in Apt 23' is Cancelled, ABC Schedule Doubles Up on 'Happy Endings'

Eight episodes of the low-rated sophomore comedy will remain unaired, while its lead-in will air the rest of its order ahead of "Dancing With the Stars" taking its slot in March.

There's bad news and good news for fans of ABC's Tuesday comedy block. Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 has been pulled from the schedule, effective immediately, and Happy Endings will start airing back-to-back original episodes starting Jan. 29.

A network rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that the change takes place next week, following Tuesday night's special two-hour premiere of The Taste and weeks of shuffling for both Apt. 23 and Happy Endings.

~~That pretty much confirms that Apt. 23 is dead. So disappointing.~~
ETA: Krysten and James confirmed the show is cancelled. Sigh.

Most likely. It isn't looking good that they moved the show around in the schedule and have now doubled up on episodes.

it's only potential saviour is the fact that it's close to syndication and it's producer (sony tv) is notorious for doing ANYTHING to get their shows to syndication

I don't really know how to explain it, but HE has just gotten sort of...mean this season? Idk, sort of mean-spirited? It's always had a sort of flippant feel, but something just seems off about it. And I never liked Penny but she is just unwatchable now.

I agree.

It was strange this season. I couldn't make it past the first 2 episodes. The characters have all become caricatures of their season1 selves, and the meanness is unnecessary now. It's like the producers picked one personality flaw and magnified it in all of them. So annoying.

I don't think they are mean in the vein of Seinfeld but just sort of... they revel in bad shit? I think I know what you mean but I can't verbalize it.

Yeah, I was just saying how they've upped the crazy quality of the characters but they've also gotten mean. I get what they were trying to go for in that scene where Penny hangs out with Pete's friends but she was so rude to everyone in the end.

The episode where they were yelling and being idiotic at a restaurant - and a guy turns around and guys "hey.. COULD YOU PLEASE SHUT THE FUCK UP?" basically describes how I feel about this entire season.
