We thought Southington, Connecticut’s plan to burn “violent” games in a pit of toxic fumes was the dumbest proposal lately, but since they came to their senses and cancelled it someone else had to step up to claim the Dumbass Of The Month award. Oh, hello there, Missouri Representative Diane Franklin. You’re just in time.
To fight the nonexistent scourge of video game induced violence, Representative Diane Franklin (R, MO) introduced a bill to tax violent video games. But wait, it gets even sillier. Guess how the bill defines violent. If you said “in a way that could be struck down by the Missouri Supreme Court on a void for vagueness ruling”, you are correct.
The bill, if passed, would impose an additional 1% sales tax on all games rated Teen, Mature, or Adult, which is damn near all of them. The bill designates the money be used “for the treatment of mental health conditions associated with exposure to violent video games”. And those mental health conditions are what exactly?
Here are a couple of photos from her Facebook page, by the way.

Yep. Selfies and guns. That’s who’s leading the charge.
Fortunately, similar bills proposed in Oklahoma and New Mexico recently were struck down. The sad thing about all this is that, besides being foolish and ineffective, Representative Franklin will probably get reelected on the claim of being “tough on crime”.
Won’t somebody think of the children? By that I mean my kids in The Sims. I deleted the pool ladder again. Next thing you know, I’ll be deleting pool ladders in real life.

Because sweeping generalizations, overreacting and still managing to ignore the actual problems in the process makes everything better always. I doubt this will pass but honestly I thought this was stupid, especially because of The Sims, and figured I would share it. Although admit it... you've killed off your Sims before just because you could, haven't you?I'm not asking this so I can send your usernames and IPs to the government
Missouri Bill Aims To Tax Violent Video Games Like ‘The Sims 3′

From the proposed bill: “the term ‘violent video game’ means a video or computer game that has received a rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board of Teen, Mature, or Adult Only” That means that , if successfully passed, Teen-rated games like The Sims 3, Starcraft 2, EVE Online and Tropico 4 would all be taxed in Missouri on account of how unrepentantly violent they are. If you don't want to buy them, google games4theworld and download from them. That's where I got most of mine. The instructions are pretty easy to follow.
The houses in those YouTube videos are custom content. That's stuff created by players that you won't find in your game unless you download it yourself.
After you finish installing your game, you can install custom content from websites like ModTheSims. Google around and you can find some other sites with good stuff.
The game itself is pretty easy to pick up. I'm sure you won't have trouble with it.
Now, if you're interested in building houses like the ones in those videos, that might take some time to learn. I just barely got good at remodeling houses in the Sims 3. It's pretty detailed stuff, but it gets easier with practice.

Do Ihave to download those particular expansion packs? The one who made the houses doesn't mention anything about which one to play the houses in :(
I'm not sure about this too, though: The videos have download links to the houses already, so I don't need to start from scratch (thank goodness!), but does that mean that when I download them, I'll already have all the stuff I need and basically all I'll need is the base game?
I did forget to mention one important thing: depending on your computer, you may have to upgrade your graphics card. If the game runs slow before you download any cc, that's probably why.
Some custom stuff may lag the game, but if that happens, go here: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?tit
and do exactly as it says and you'll be able to pinpoint what the problem is.
As for these particular houses, it's hard to say. Maybe you can send a message to them or leave a comment? Otherwise, I would just download the base game, download the custom content the designers say you need to download to have those houses, and go from there. It'll tell you if some items couldn't load once you enter the house. If you get that message, either download more expansions or try to get in touch with the folks who designed the house.
Can't wait to start this all out, fingers crossed I don't have to use too much of my brain power and bombard you with any more questions :x
