Sasha Grey wants to become a Russian citizen?

sasha_grey_wide

An American actress, model, musician, and former porn star Sasha Grey (born Marina Ann Hantzis) has hinted that he wants to obtain Russian citizenship. "Лапя ццво вы хотите мое граждантсво?" - she wrote in cyrillic in her Twitter. It means "Lapya tstsvo you want my citizenship?" (what means "lapya tstsvo" remains unclear).

This entry has caused a storm of delight in Russia: almost seven thousand retweets per day, more than a thousand bloggers added it to favorites. "ДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДАДААДАДАДАДАДАД ДА ДА ДА" ("YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES YES YES YES") - wrote one of her followers, awarded by a retweet from Sasha Grey.

Earlier this month, the Russian citizenship was obtained by a French actor and film-maker Gerard Depardieu.

Well, most Russian people are white anyway.

All of them, frankly. But Pushkin was black

Not all of them. People always forget about the indigenous peoples.

But not all are racist (though I do admit that Russia is a goshdarn cesspool for most part and so is Ukraine).

I didn't know Russian people were racist.
(I thought racism was specific to multiracial countries like the US/UK, but I guess I'm wrong)

They are rather racist and intolerant. Because there's a rather uniform culture here, everyone who is "different" in any way is often ostracized. Also, it's very patriarchal, and most men are raging sexists. It really gets noticeable for me, since I spend more time talking to the English-speaking folks than to Russian-speaking ones.

I see. Most countries are like that though, except for the US and some major Western-European countries. I guess diversity/cultural modernization is a good thing, but I also think keeping your cultural traditions is very important, since every culture is unique and has an interesting history to it (although obvious flaws need to be fixed).

Fortunately, the teens/young adults here are less fucked up and have a more European way of thinking. Some poor sods are still infected by their rigid, Soviet-minded parents though. So, it's getting better really slowly... but probably never will be good.
