Avril Lavigne fans won’t have to wait much longer to hear the ‘Complicated’ singer’s new material.

(Friday) the 28 year-old tweeted:" New music ready very soon. Thanks for being so supportive and patient. I'm doing my best in every way. Thanks xo."

This will be the star’s fifth album as she hasn’t released any new material since her 2009 studio album Goodbye Lullaby. Will Avril's fifth album be music to everybody's ears? The new record was originally planned to be released last year after ex- X Factor judge and Epic chairman LA Reid said he wanted to release the album in 2012 or at “the top of the year.”

Reid also let slip that Avril has co-written songs with her fiancé Nickleback frontman Chad Kroeger for her LP.
