I thought unsupervised was a cute show if only for the fact that the boys were so enthusiastic and upbeat about almost everything in their (lbr) rather shitty lives.
this was the biggest reason i loved the show. their eternal optimism and endless enthusiasm in the face of having a super fucked up life was so refreshing and made for such hilarity. i love those boys - i was rooting for them
rewatching eisodes rn - perfect example of this: scene: boys standing by car with 2 girls in it, they are trying to hit on the girls.
girl 1: why would we want to come hang out with you? gary: cause you can drink and smoke all you want at my house, i aint got no rules! joel: yeah its like chaos there girl1: what about your parents? gary: my dad ran away and my stepmom is out of town like every weekend! joel: my parents are old as dirt, they dont give a crap about anything. girls 2: sounds saaad. joel: its awesome! i can do whatever the hell i want. i held my breath for like a minute, passed out and no one even came and got me. girl 2: thats crazy.
