showbiz-jessica-chastain-tom-hiddleston

Jessica Chastain has denied that she's dating Thor tar Tom Hiddleston.

Earlier this week, the Zero Dark Thirt actress was romantically linked to Tom Hiddleston, after reports that she had visited his family and friends this Christmas.

"Why would they say that?" she told USA Today. "It's not true at all. It's funny, two weeks ago I was dating - I'm not dating

"But there was a rumour on Page 6 that I was dating [co-star] Edgar Ramirez. I love him, but he's just my friend."

Michael Fassbender as you’ve never seen him before - alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal and Domhnall Gleeson in 'Frank'

hopefully his face is hidden during the entire running time

You'll never guess who the man in the middle is so we won’t even make you try – it’s Michael Fassbender as you’ve never seen him, in character for his new role as the lead in a film called Frank, currently shooting in New Mexico.

That’s Maggie Gyllenhaal on one side of Fass, and fellow Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson, son of Brendan, on the other. Frank, directed by Irishman Lenny Abrahamson, is a comedy loosely based on the life of English musician Chris Sievey, who also created a comic persona for himself by the name of Frank Sidebottom – complete with cartoonish face

Fassbender will appear with the funny face throughout the film, according to producer Ed Guiney.

"Michael is Michael after all, even with a fiberglass head on. He keeps the head on for all the scenes in the film. Everyone's just got used to it," Guiney told the Irish Independent from location in New Mexico, where filming started last Friday.

Entertainment.ie says Frank is about “a young wannabe musician called Jon (Gleeson) who finds himself a little out of his depth among a band of eccentric pop musicians led by the mysterious titular character, Frank (Fassbender).

The film’s budget is pegged at €5 million, and production will eventually shift to Ireland. (Fassbender was raised in Killarney, Co. Kerry by his Irish mother and German dad). It’s due for release later this year.

There’s been a lot of speculation that the character Cumberbatch is playing is Khan, the bad guy from the second tar Trek ovie in 1982. But the star has sai his character’s name is John Harrison.

Fans will also be able to hear (but not see) Cumberbatch in the upcoming sequel t The Hobbit. Cumberbatch voices the dragon Smaug.

more at the source about the other stars to watch

op's note: there are no photos of all three of them together so i had to improvise.

Where is Toma career at RN? Benedict and Michael are YEARS ahead of him. And his Loki hype only struck a nerve in his fanbase. No one in the industry seems to be creaming themselves for him, like they are for Benedict. The hollow Crown didn't get any love either,I was surprised.
ninjacandy 20th-Jan-2013 01:24 am (UTC)
I don't think he's thirsty for state side fame.

Saladfingers wants that affirmation and Fassy is taking every project he can get since he spent most of his early acting days getting pissed in Hackney and getting into bar fights (so rumours say).
jello404 20th-Jan-2013 01:31 am (UTC)
Lmfao Ben does seem to want to be A list, and hes literally at every single industry event in either side if the pond and fassbender..I think you hit the nail on the head. Lol but idk..Tom does seem to enjoy fame, and slightly whorey,as far as his twitter is concerned. But even in Englad..is he huge? Or at least on Benedict's and Michael level?or like you said, maybe he doesn't give a shit?
copa_cetic 20th-Jan-2013 01:42 am (UTC)
Mm, I don't know. Tom's been in lots of events in the British film industry this winter (BFI/BFI judging/Empire short film judging), he's clearly trying to put himself out there to try and snag a new role IMO.

I know he has a Jim Jarmusch movie (that was originally meant for Fassbender) coming out this year, and I hope he gets cast in something decent sometime soon. I don't think his lack of blowing up stateside is for lack for trying.

saladfingers lol
megalixer 20th-Jan-2013 01:28 am (UTC)
I like Tom but IMO I haven't seen any evidence that he's as talented as Fassbender or Cumberbatch tbh. I mean, he's not a bad actor, but the other two have been GREAT in quality things whereas . . . Tom did well with Loki considering the script he had to work with, lol.
ninjacandy 20th-Jan-2013 01:30 am (UTC)
On Tom's portrayal of Loki (who was terribly written and in a terrible movie) my friend rightly observed; "He was emoting so well. I just don't know why or for what."
jello404 20th-Jan-2013 02:11 am (UTC)
I couldn't gree more. He'l really gives it his all but he really isn't on Benedict's level. Damn near no one in the industry is. Michael isn't either but he's better than Tom. Which is werid because like I said,he really gives everything he has but it just doesn't translate well. He spayed in deep blue sea and the hollow crown but there was something missing: idk what it was. HOWEVER he legit made me swoon in Henry when he had to seduce Katerine.Good lord that man made me melt. I think he needs a British rom com.hes harming and has great comedic timing.
ladysherlock 20th-Jan-2013 01:37 am (UTC)
I honestly think he wants a break. Boy's been making films non-stop since Avengers.

He'll never hurt for work. British villains will never go out of style.
sarahvma 20th-Jan-2013 04:18 am (UTC)
I'd say that Fassbender *was* ahead of both of them, but now Cumberbatch has snuck to the front, and if Tom keeps this momentum going, he'll pass Fassy. Fassy's in trouble unless he pulls out a hit this year. He's close to being forgotten at this stage.
jello404 20th-Jan-2013 06:38 am (UTC)
Omg you're right! I almost forgot that no ones really talking about Micael RN. Isn't he in 12 yrs as a slave with Cumberbatch? He might get nom if the tole is good enough. Along with Cumberbatch who's basically a shoe in for some sort of academy nom for one of his many Oscar bait projects. Award season'14 is going to be off the chain. But yeah. It totally slipped my mind! He really hasn't been on anyone's radar, and even for Shame it was all about his dick, not his performance.
katikat 20th-Jan-2013 09:40 am (UTC)
LOL. Fassbender forgotten? Even Prometheus haters agreed that it was Fassbender who carried the movie, he was everywhere. He enjoyed critical acclaim for Shame. Some actors would sell their soul for having a year like that. He has Twelve Years a Slave, the Terrence Malick project, The Counselor under his belt, filming Frank, about to start XM:DOFP and Jane Got a Gun, he has Assassin's Creed and Prometheus 2 in the his future... And it's all lead parts. LOL at him being forgotten. I think he nicely balances out independent stuff and blockbusters and doesn't burn himself out by letting film makers stuff him into a box.
ninjacandy 20th-Jan-2013 08:49 pm (UTC)
Cumberbatch is ahead for the time being but I feel that Fassy will win the race because his looks (and talent but mainly his looks) put him in better steed than Cumberbatch. Plus, Fassy seems to have pleased the right people via X-Men, Shame and Prometheus. I would have agreed with you had it not been for a series of sites showing interest in his love life and candids appearing (diff stuff).

Either way, Hiddles is behind. Way behind. Tom has yet to have something like Shame or X-Men (TA didn't get any critics to talk about Tom whilst X-M had critics salivating over McAvoy & Fassy). Plus, Fassy covers more magazines than Hiddles.

Still, I be rooting for Hiddles.
grapefruitzzz 20th-Jan-2013 05:39 pm (UTC)
MTE. I love him to chunks, but he isn't getting many parts. The 'Hollow Crown' stuff last year took lots of time and got mixed reviews (personally, I blame the director for his sections. 'Richard II' was brilliant and very odd-looking but the other three were kind of uninspired even for a 'standard old Shakespeare' brief).

He has "Thor 2: The Spanking" and that hipster Jim Jarmusch vampire film coming up but what else?

Why isn't he in 'Star Trek' instead of Saladfingers? (that's just a selfish wish as I'm going to watch it anyway and pretending to hate the Cuke makes me laugh).
ninjacandy 20th-Jan-2013 08:44 pm (UTC)
Honestly, I guess it's that Hiddles has had nothing to help him breakout. Thor was a mediocre popcorn movie which, like Captain America, existed just to introduce 'That hefty Legolas in The Avengers: comings to theatres near you!' Whilst Fassy had the critically acclaimed Shame and the blockbuster Prometheus (okay, nobody liked it but Fassy got good press). Cumberbatch has Sherlock which really pushed him out there in a way nobody expected.

Hiddles needs that big break and Thor (and The Avengers) just aren't it.
